Blog title says it all – check out what this UK club culture web-site had to say after a recent visit to Hong Kong:

  • Video from recent Japan gig

Thanks to (the man, the legend) lighting & video tech Luke Hall for uploading these videos. More party vids to watch if you click through to his YouTube channel. He filled up about 40GB’s full of smart card over the 4 day trip, so I expect there will be much more added when he returns to Hong Kong; rock’n'roll techno jet setter that he is.

Track IDs – this was towards the end of my set & I’d used up all the suitable new tracks – the Kyushu crowd just wanted to get harder, darker & deeper … and who am I to argue in the face of such impeccable taste:

Sasha Van Doorn “Dozer” (my re-edit, original is from about 2007 I think?)
Whignomy Brothers “Epinikkion” (another oldie, and yet another re-edit)

Thanks Fukuoka, will be back soon; the resident AIR DJs and everyone we met in the city was so damn cool, I cannot wait to go back.

  • Back from the Japan gig

Had the honour of playing at Fukuoka's club AIR alongside T.B., Montea, Ko Hayashi, Aizawa and Hong Kong's very own Frankie Lam this weekend ... some random photos of the entire trip on my blogger page, will add links from other people's camera when I get sent them:

Playing underground techno clubs like this overseas makes me want to burn down every fucking same-same venue in Central and start again. For such a small city (1.7M?) Fukuoka's bars, clubs, live houses and lounges offered a huge range of CHOICE... something that Hong Kong drinkers are fooled into thinking they have. Not even close. You could knock all the walls out between every bar on Hollywood Road into one big pub ... and no-one would even notice.

The weekend was inspiring... anyway... I digress.

Check the photos. Videos are starting to appear on YouTube. For any of the Kyushu posse reading this – especially the AIR club / Water Lounge staff & all the people who came over to chat during the event – arigato gozaimasu!

(p.s: my apologies if the Japanese is completely wrong)
