  • Sex...as you like...

    Friday, Apr 25, 2008 7:31PM / Standard Entry

Wow...can't believe the last entry was so long ago...
sorry...i'm really quite lazy with blogs...

anyways, thought of something funny and worth sharing...but because the following entry deals with explicit sexual content...pls follow in your own discretion...

A couple of days ago on msn, a friend of my who's a big Hentai fans (in case some of you don't know, Hentai is Japanese Anime Porn), msg me and said:

"I found my perfect dream girl..."

He refused to tell me who the girl is or where she is from, so I asked him to send me a pic of this so called dream girl. And instead he send me a link to a website. And to my bewilderment, this is what I saw:

Yes, she is a silicon doll, but she is not your average blow-up Mary or Jane. Her 'name' is NEU(Goblin Chic), a product by the Japanese company  4 Woods Co. Ltd whose business slogan is "Manufacturing Inspiring Soulful Love Dolls".  Contrary to what you might think about a blow up doll, whose look and function are all pretty mundane and dull, these 'girls' from 4 woods are anything but simple. On their website, they have choices of over 12 different dolls that cater to different tastes. From ethnicity, body frame, breast size, nipple color, eye color, skin tone, hair style and color, make up style, finger nails style and color, body paint, and even REAL PUBIC HAIR transplant, these dolls can be customize to satisfy most of your seedy desires. Click on the order form in the website and have fun picking out your own dolls and you will see what I mean. Gotta give it up to the Japs, they always seems to take things to another level...

Naturally, I was quite worry about my friend; I was worried that sexual frustration have already pushed him to the fringes that he has to find a doll to compensate for his lack of it. Yet when i expressed my concern, his reply would be nothing short of food for thought:

    "I don't see what's wrong with satisfying myself with a nice doll like that;
instead of going out of the way with all kinds of phony lies and stupid jokes to get a gf, I rather save myself the effort and get a prostitute instead...
sex is getting more unreal each day anyways,
I just can't wait till the day when all sexual desires
can be fulfilled virtually or with bots..."

Remember Jude Law from the film A.I.??  Where he plays the role of a male prostitute robot? Well what my friend hopes for is precisely that, when sexual activities are no longer limited between real human beings and can be conducted through different means, even by oneself.

I did some searching on the web to see when and how we will reach that stage of human evolution, and to my surprise, it doesn't really seem like it will take that long. At least, i'm convinced I can see it happening before I die at old age. There are numerous researches that are going on right now that tries to map out our whole neuro-circuit. In other words, in a matter of decades, we will be able to find out exactly which part of our brain are responsible for the feelings and rushes we felt when having sex, down to the exact synapses. With the advance of Head Console development, (think of the head gear that the characters in Matrix wore on their head), we already have product in the market now that can read signals from our brain to give simple command to the computer, it won't be long until this process can be reverse, where the head console can trigger certain parts of our brain or synapses that will give us authentic emotions and reactions.

With that being achieved, i think there will be a huge revolution in the porn industry, where the old fashioned video porn will no longer be able to satisfy people. Instead, pornography will enter into a new age, Porn 2.0 kinda thing where the porn star in the video or the gaming software can 'interact' with the user and really stimulates him/her where it matters...

Who knows, maybe in the near future, no longer will anyone will be left unsatisfied sexually. And with that almighty SEX issue out of the way, maybe more people can be left with a clear mind to deal with their relationships with others. The future can be a bit intimidating, but for people like my friend, it can be a bright new day...

in the meantime, i guess i'll just try to gather up money to buy my friend that doll from 4 woods, which will cost us some $50,000 HKD...

  • This is Hong Kong...

    Thursday, Jan 31, 2008 4:14PM / Standard Entry

    Dear all,

Happy new year and Kung Hei Fat Choy!!!

Over the new year I got a bit sick and tired of this concrete jungle we called Hong Kong, so me and a couple of friends decided to venture out to the outskirt of this city to search for a peace of mind. What we found blew our mind away...never really care to know about this side of Hong Kong...

here's are some of the photos I've taken...enjoy...

On a beautiful sunny day, we started out from Tai O and hiked along the South-Western Coast of Lantau Island for approx. 3 hrs...

When we finally reached the campsite in Tsin Yue Wan around 5:00 pm, we quickly set up our tents and found a perfect spot for view of the sunset. Apparently, this campsite is said to have one the nicest view of the sunset in Hong Kong...

Although I was a bit disappointed to find out that after nightfall, the city of vices, Macau, suddenly appeared across the sea with its dreadful city lights...but I guess the beautiful sunset, compensated for all that...and we got real drunk at night anyways...so it's didn't really matter that much...

And I guess it's true that, sometimes when you live long enough in a city, you tend to focus more on her vulgarities, but the fault could equally be ours, that we city dwellers are often too ignorant or busy in our own hustle n bustle that we misses all the beautiful things a city possess...

    flâneur...anyone??

    take care all...

  • Damn Christmas...

    Wednesday, Dec 19, 2007 6:10AM / Standard Entry

    Dear all,

Haven't really written anything for this page for a while, have been kind of busy and lazy (yes, they can go hand in hand)...but because it's near the end of December, my anxieties are prompting me to write this all down and share with some of you...

I'm not sure about most of you, but I absolutely HATE Christmas....especially in HK...

When a whole city becomes like an overly done film set for a cheesy Christmas movie, complete with awful elevator tunes repeating and repeating in every shop you go into...i get really depress....

Don't ask me why, i'm fucked like that...and I especially dread it when i feel like i'm coerced into being happy...First of all, I never get it why I'm suppose to be festive for Christmas (though new year's eve is getting even worse lately). Don't get me wrong, I've always enjoyed the holidays and the parties, but every time when someone says: "hey man, it's christmas, let's celebrate!!". It just kills me...i never get the logic behind this line...Being a non-Christian, I simply don't know what's there to celebrate...

Then there's the human traffic!!! Every year when we step into December, the streets of Hong Kong become unbearably crowded. Cars get jammed, people get stuck, I get claustrophobic. I sometimes suspect that I've a mild form of agoraphobia...but that's another story...

Comparing to the reasons given above, however, what I found most 'disturbing' about Christmas it's the commercialization of it. Doesn't it feel like everywhere you go, there's no escape from some sort of media portrayal of different brands associating itself with the festivities. I mean can somebody please tell me what's Starbucks got to do with Christmas? I don't think the Lord drank coffee back then...Yes, this is all nothing new, and there are even those who rejoice in the commercialization aspect of it being a good indicator of our society's wealth and affluence. I've no problem with people's spending power, I just don't want that stupid tune ringing in my head when I struggle to go to sleep at night...i thought holiday is all about relaxing and peace of mind. If there's ever a Risk Indicator for Mental Pollution, December will always be marked as high....

For those who wanna look more into the subject, there's a documentary coming out soon titled What Would Jesus Buy? that deals with the subject and "tries to reminds us that even though we may be “hypnotized and consumerized,” we still have a chance to save ourselves this Christmas."

Before I end off this post making myself sound like a complete cynical bore...I just wanna recommend some good music to those who would like to get away from the hustle and bustle this holiday...

I'm sure some of you must've heard of the great Estonian composer Arvo Part and his music...but for those who hasn't, I highly recommend these two albums:

    Alina - Listen

    Kanon Pokajanen - Listen

I don't wanna say too much about the music because any descrīption with words cannot do any justice to the music on these two albums. Personally, I consider Arvo Part's music as some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard and I cannot think of any better gift to all my fellow AnD friends...

Have a wonderful holiday all and stay out of trouble....

    take care...

  • Pier Politiking...

    Wednesday, Aug 8, 2007 7:06AM / Standard Entry

On July 31st, I went over to the Queen's Pier to show respect and support for the cause of heritage conservation...

Hong Kong, in the words of scholar Ackbar Abbas, is a city in constant disappearance...

Too many buildings and structures of historical importance (some even with high potential for generating tourism) have already been torn down, displaced, and taken away from the people of Hong Kong, hence, the city in its development, the 'progressive' strive towards an Asia's World City standard, is constantly burying its past...and without our past, we could very well be lost in the future...

To be honest, I have no personal feelings towards the Queen's Pier, I rarely ventured out there except for the annual habit of watching films at the HKIFF, where some screenings were held at the City Hall...

Yet, this whole movement started up by the three fasting students, 本土行動, and 學聯 have really raised our awareness of the history that have taken place here on this not so attractive pier...

However, the sad truth remains that the voices of the people can always be deemed irrelevant by a piece of paper with a couple of signatures and a chop...

There's no other background building more ironically suited for this rally at the pier...
Can you feel the towering economy and its invisible hand?

I really like this sign...there were loads of expressive artwork like this displayed at the pier, i couldn't helped but felt like I walked into an outdoor exhibition of political installation art when I first got there...

When night falls, more people came around for support...

The three fasting students speaks out...

Cultural critic 梁文道 speaks out...for those who can read Chinese, there's an excellent interview between him and the students on inmediahk.net

    05:19, August 1st...

Quite possibly the last sunrise at Queen's Pier...

Regardless of what will be done to the future of this pier, awareness in the importance of protecting, learning, and giving space to our past, has finally gained the spotlight it urgently deserves...

My deepest respect for those who fought and are still fighting to preserve Queen's Pier...

  • Bergman...Bergman...Bon Voyage

    Monday, Jul 30, 2007 7:43PM / Standard Entry

This month has been a month of mourning for Cinema...

First, we lost our great Taiwanese director Edward Yang, whose works I think needs no introduction...

Then, today, I heard on the radio that one of my most respected and beloved filmmaker/artist have just passed away peacefully in his home in Sweden...his name is Ingmar Bergman...

My mind quickly fell into Silence...then Persona...Through a Glass Darkly...Fanny and Alexander....Scenes from a Marriage...Cries and Whispers...The Seventh Seal...etc. all the great works that have left a very big impact on me as a cinephile and others worldwide...

It was Silence, which taught me that silence and solitude in film could be so 'heavy and loud'

It was Persona and Through a Glass Darkly, which brought me into the darker realm of filmic characters

It was Fanny and Alexander and Scenes from a Marriage, which showed me that stories made for Television could be equally, if not more, powerful than stories made for the big screen...(though Kieslowski did that for me too with Decalogue...)

And together with Sven Nykvist, one of the greatest Cinematographer, they had created some of the most stunning Black and White imagery ever to be projected on the silverscreen, showing us that life doesn't necessarily look better in color...

    ............

But unlike Edward Yang's death, however, Bergman's death did not arouse as much sadness in me...I guess the reason for that is because Edward Yang died at a rather early age of 50, whereas we all were expecting more great output from this director, especially after his award-winning Yi Yi...

Bergman, on the other hand, is already 89 this year, and the news of him passing away peacefully in his own home with his family sounded much more like a well-rounded ending for such a prolific artists whose 60+ films he left behind will always remain, in mine and many other people's heart, as immortal works which shows the emotional power and artistic value of cinema as an artform...

I sincerely hope that someone will organize a comprehensive Bergman Retrospective in a city near you...

Bon Voyage....one of the greatest film director....Ingmar Bergman...
