  Because I am extraordinarily nosy I thought I would comment! Yayangpe you bring up some interesting points and I can dispute nothing of what you say.
  
  But if Ms. Keller does want to have Foie Gras she can have her boyfriend prepare some of the ethically produced foie gras (really called Fat Goose liver because it is not as fatty as Foie Gras...still no 'gravage' force feeding involved! so its a little better) *hint

  Dear Denise,
  
  I was really disappointed that in your interview with THE NEW PAPER dated 17th November 2009, the writer wrote that you were hoping for Bobby Chinn to cook you Foie Gras for you this Christmas.
  
  I won’t impose my ideals on anyone, but I hope that as a celebrity whom many people look up to, especially since after your dedication to YourLife.com, that you would not publicly arouse the curiosity of people to try this delicacy.
  
  Here’s why:
  
  BOYCOTT FOIE GRAS - PLEASE READ - Ducks and Geese are force fed through a metal tube 3 times a day. They suffer from liver sweling, throat damage, oesophageal drama and anal haemorrhaging. Those who don't survive literally explode, and die with food spilling out from their throats and nostrils, the surving ones eventually get eaten alive by rats because their crippling injuries unable them to move; or get slaughtered for the gastronomical delight of gournets. Imagine how we humans will feel if more intelligent beings from another planet took a liking to human flesh and treated us the way we treat the animals that we ate?
  
  We should care about how our food is harvested, and it really shouldn’t need to put an animal through tremendous torture for our gourmet delight.

  Its the 20 aniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall by the way, hope you were able to watch some of the coverage of the celebrations and events in Germany at least. Interesting to think that in the world in places like Kasmir (sp) and Korea people are still divided by a wall. An interesting time we live in .

  Denise, I think you are doing a great job with your project climate work. Keep it up! Though I think you have a really difficult job truly getting the message across to the people but its something that needs to be done.
  
  Well you talked about 'root causes' of climate change and I think the root causes is simply greed and desire for profit. Here in Alberta, Canada our oil reserves rival or exceed those found in Saudi Arabia (not many people know that ;)) And the task of trying to convince these northern oil barons to invest in alternate energy technologies, use less water when extracting oil, take care of the wildlife habitat they drill in and make use of cutting edge pollution reducing technologies is a difficult one since it will cut into their profit margins.
  
  Sometimes I think people are willing to be environmentally responsible only if it does not cost them anything!
