My First Trip to Beijing

Hi everyone.  Well here I am in Beijing.   It's my first time here and man it's cold.  Haven't been subjected to cold weather in a while.  Was fortunate to meet an American Businessman who was kind enough to have his friend drive me to the city centre.  He then took us out for dinner for what was to be my first Xiabu Xiabu experience.  I then hopped in a cab and headed to a Hostel in the Qianmen area for the first couple of nights near Tianmen Square.  Took the opportunity to take a night stroll once I was settled in to c...Read more

History Asia Singapore

Well, the callbacks are done.  The first day consisted of an interview with the production crew / judge panel that went very well.  After the interview I was asked to do a historical presentation for them on camera which, what I thought, went smoothly.  The second day was more challenging as we did an on set screentest in Fort Canning Park.   We ended up doing an improv intro of the Park.  It was very challenging and although I think I could have done better, I think I faired well.  The second part of the screen test involved interview...Read more

My History Asia pitch

Ok, this is definitely not as entertaining as Simon Yin's happy taiwan pitch, but then again it is the History Channel so it's a different approach.  I just finished editing my casting video for the History Channel.  They are looking for a new host for their History Asia Segment.  It was shot here in Hong Kong.  I would like to thank my wonderful Camera Op Grandmaster Simon Yin for his time and use of his awesome mic.  So here it is and all I can do now is stay positive and maintain my optimism.  Enjoy and I will let you know if...Read more

A Sad Day but a day of Reflection

I received an email and link from my father today.  The link was to an article in the Vancouver Sun announcing the death of my Senior Highschool Principal Mr. Bob Carkner.  He was truly a man of inspiration.  He passed away at the age of 73 which made me realize how many years have gone by since I graduated from highschool.  He was a man who seemed to have time for everybody.  When I was in Grade 11 he learned about my Sport Karate results and took an notice.  He even announced one day on the PA about my recent Grand Champio...Read more

Thanks for your votes.

Well, everyone.  Gong Wu has not only moved into the top five, they are now Number 1!!!!  Thanks to all of you that have voted.  The contest has managed to maintain it's integrity thanks to people like you and the bands that should be in the top five are.  And a few others just outside the top five are closing in as well.  I say vote for Gong Wu if you haven't already.   Or as i said before, vote for who you really believe deserves to be in the top five.  Cheers.                   Read more

Vote for Gong Wu

Hi everyone.  Linkin Park will be playing on August 16th at Cotai Arena in Macau.  Alive not Dead is holding a contest that allows members to vote for the band that they would like to see open up for them.

Yes the members of Gong Wu, especially Li Xu, is a good friend of mine but I do truly believe that they should be in the top five to be chosen by Linkin Park. Let me tell ...Read more
