This is one of the coolest things that I think has happened in New York City in recent years:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/20/nyregion/20closings.html?_r=1if you're curious what it might look like, here is a rendering:

pretty friggin amazing and awesome. they've already started this, up in Times Square as well as down by the Flatiron...
\it's still a little weird. i snapped this photo as i was walking by today, and it kind of felt like people were just sitting in the middle of the street, still - which they essentially are. but it's an amazing start. the entire thing was only proposed in February --- and the tables and chairs are already out there. pretty amazing.

that's maybe not the image that comes to mind initially when someone says "Brooklyn" - but that was my view for hours today... in brooklyn. sun beaming down, cool and dry breeze blowing, and lots of staring out at the water and sky. and lots of staring with my eyes closed.

I've found my new favorite Japanese noodle spot in NYC:
IppudoI didn't take any pictures because i was too busy noticing how fucking delicious the food was. very well worth the wait (as there seems to always be).
oh,
Ippudo, you delicious motherfuckers...

"we got blocks and glocks with big shots with big knots and big props, yo this is where the BULLSHIT STOPS..."- Rakim
indeed, there hasn't been much time or room for any bullshit the last few weeks. back on the usual grind, back in the familiar hustle, back to work, reconnecting to the things that keep me focused and remembering what "matters." just little reminders that only home can give you - and then you can venture back out and carry those reminders with you everywhere you go.
and spring time in NYC is staying cool for a little bit longer than usual, which is... well, cool.
