i love good advertising... it makes me happy and hopeful that there are ways to sustain a good living by being creative. these are some of the best ads i've seen in a while:

the third one is a little inaccurate though; it's missing David Hasselhoff and his amazing blinking jacket, which you can peep here. is he the sexiest creature to ever walk the face of the earth? possibly. is that jacket more epic than the actual tearing down of the wall? almost definitely.

welcome to New York, lady. you just made the city a little dumber by coming here.

apparently there is a law in Singapore that prohibits a dude from fucking another dude. there's an actual law against this. it's not just "culturally frowned upon" or " considered taboo." it's AGAINST THE LAW. and this woman, Dr. Li-Ann Thio, a professional educator, is making sure that law doesn't go anywhere.

and now she's going to be bringing her ignorant, bigoted, intolerance to my shores, to New York City, because NYU school of Law decided to have her as a guest faculty member this fall to teach a course called... get this... wait for it... waaaaiiiit for it... "Human Rights in Asia." why is this so fucking ridiculous? because while her bio states that she "has been a fierce defender of minority rights," she's also ranting on about how gay sex is like "shoving a straw up your nose to drink." how can you be considered a defender of "minority rights" when your claim to fame is saying dumb homophobic shit like that?

lady, you are an idiot.

but what REALLY pisses me off about this moron? she resorts to being condescending toward americans to justify her bigotry:

"I think certain Americans have to realise the fact that there are a diversity of views on the subject and it is not a settled matter; there is no universal norm and it is nothing short of moral imperialism to suggest there is."

really? is that what Americans need to realize? because i'd argue that what certain Americans need to realize is that it's 2009 and there's no room for bigotry and intolerance, particularly in a classroom. and as a purveyor of higher education, you should be sharing that sentiment, not promoting the exact opposite. and i'd like to add that lobbying to make it illegal for a man to consensually put his dick into another man's ass is actually the ultimate form of this "moral imperialism" that you seem so against. i mean, once you pass a law making something illegal, you're pretty much trying to say that it is a "settled matter," aren't you? you're 100% correct, there is no "universal norm" but your position on this issue is that men who want to fuck men are "abnormal." and that makes you a dummy. so touché, you narrow minded hypocritical weirdo.

and before some of you misinterpret what i'm saying here and think i'm going on some pro-american rant, i'd like to emphasize that's not the case at all. as a matter of fact, my point is actually on the other side of that coin - America has enough of it's own fucked up fearful bigots who are full of hate, i'm just saying, why the fuck do we need to import one from 10,000 miles away? i guess we're all supposed to be educated and academic about this and promote a healthy dialogue and productive debate so please allow me to start...
