i saw a very large display of this stuff at a supermarket in Singapore (but the manager kindly asked me not to take pictures; he asked so nicely that i didn't even try to sneak one).

what exactly is this shit? where is it from, what does it do, and how can i make sure i never accidentally eat/drink any of it?

it sounds like one of those "dirty sanchez," "cleveland steamer," blumpkin" things... except it comes in a jar.

erm, ok...i don't know what it is exactly, i've eaten it (but i hate it!), it's actually a common food (or probably u can call it a supplement) over this side of the world...
mum says it's a type of chicken soup... with that said, i think probably they boiled the whole chicken for ages so the concentration is that high, it's dark in color and let's just say the smell and taste is just not my cup of tea...
it's supposedly nutritious and reinvigorates you, but i'll make a pass...some ppl could actually take a few at one go just to burn the midnight oil...

essence of chicken is what comes out of people born in the year of the rooster when they get highly aroused. DUH hehehe when you coming back?

It has to be a chicken stock - however a very fancy name 'essence of chicken' for what is just run of the mill chicken stock cubes.They prob call it this name because it has no trace of any actual chicken in it just the essence of it!

I think essence of chicken is when they take a chicken, put it in one of those old-school medicine stone pots with herbs and boil it until the uh, essence of the chicken comes out... then you have a concentrated broth of chicken essence...

LOL. All this chicken talk is cracking me up. Essence of chicken.... chickens as mammals... this is probably like chicken broth, right?
