  • Another Travel Show Opportunity???

    Monday, Apr 20, 2009 10:20AM / Standard Entry

After a brief trip to Chinatown for some good grub but no Red Cliff DVDs, I ran across another posting for a travel show host.   This is the 3rd one that has fallen into my lap.  The first one was awesome, anout going to foreign countries and exploring tattoos in their cultures.  This new onealmost sounds like the way some my earlier trips were.  Like showing up in Taipei with out a hotel and finding one even though I can't speak any Chinese or showing up in Vegas for a weekend during the SEMA show with EVERY hotel  booked and crashing on the floor of the dorms at UNLV with some cool students there.  Anyway it sounds like fun and I am going for it!!

Tomorrow I submit my resume to several productions.  Plus Nightmare on Elm Street is casting teachers and other adult roles.  This summer is getting busy already!!!!!

  • From New York to Miami!!!

    Sunday, Apr 19, 2009 9:27AM / Standard Entry

Sometimes I love to check to email.

I got a message in my email about an episode of CSI:Miami is filming some parts in Chicago.  I have to send my pics and resume to a office in LA.  From the looks of it, there is actually about 3 characters I am up for according to the description.

Its real cool to me to cause back in '07, I worked on a episode of CSI:NY that came to Chicago for filming.   Wish me luck!!!

  • Audition Day

    Saturday, Apr 18, 2009 8:22AM / Standard Entry

Sorry I am really backed up.  Back on 4/5 I had 2 auditions in the same day.   The first one I would hardly call an audition.  It was more like take photos and fill out a sheet of paper on a clipboard.   I was out quickly which left me a bit of free time between appointments.

The second one was a little difficult.  I showed up and waited about 45 minutes for them to talk to me.  Then I was given a 3 page script to read over but I didn't have to memorize it, just do a table read with another guy.  After looking it over for about 10 minutes, I went in.  I don't know what it is but I always get nervous when I walk in and have cameras on me for just an audition.  They had 2 cameras set on tripods by the table and one guy walking around with one in his hand.   The part I read for was an un-named cop.  We were investigating a murder scene where a kids stomach was cut open and no one saw anything happen.

I read through the script a few times with cop #2 and tried doing it in different tones and a few times with some anger on the lack of details of the crime scene.  After I finished, the one casting director wanted me to give them a short monologue.  I didn't prepare one cause they said I would just read so now I was really in a panic.  They wanted to see me act something out which was a good sign.  All I could come up with was the scene from Dark Knight where the Joker trashes the mob bosses.  They liked what I did and then it turned into a Q&A about how it was working on Dark Knight and meeting Heath and such.

The odd thing about the last interview is that A Nightmare on Elm Street has the remake shooting in Chicago for most of the summer.  The movie is called Sleepers and deals with gruesome murders.  Hmmmm.   It could be a code name or fake title but maybe it isn't.  I was contacted about Nightmare on Elm Street recently and they used the actual name.  I'll keep everyone posted on how this turns out

Afterwards I went to Chinatown and pigged out.  All the yummy foods I miss like cha siu bao (BBQ pork buns), BBQ pork fried rice, egg tarts, Vita tea boxes, Qoo, ham & egg buns, fried turnip cakes.  Like I said, I pigged out!!!

  • 2nd Trailer for Public Enemies!!!!

    Tuesday, Apr 14, 2009 8:53AM / Standard Entry

I didn't know they had a second trailer for Public Enemies coming so soon after the first one.   So far this is the only place to see it.  Hopefully I'll be able to catch this in a theater soon.   This one really isnt too much different from the first one except less of the footage from the bank robberies.

The show is at 9 PM at The Wanch at 54 Jaffe Rd in Wan Chai .   Its free admission and 3 other bands called Chocchukmo , Hungry Ghost and Sinister Left are playing as well.
