By this time next week, I will be on HK soil.

So excited!
I still have to get some homework finished; I was a bit procrastinating, but now I just have to finish a few more articles and then start my paper. The writing part won't be too hard, it was the research that was killing me. Reading and more reading about Chinese logistics. I am so tired about reading any more articles about Chinese logistics! But, I guess I can be a bit of an expert now. NOT! I haven't even set foot on Chinese ground. *laff* It is advisable from all the articles to "visit" China before starting any kind of logistics venture there.
So, my plan is... finish paper, pack, and get up really early Thursday to get my behind to the airport. All shots (for now) are finished. All other logistics are finished (minus the paper). Just gotta get to breathing and making sure that everything I'm gonna need is good and ready...
Oh, and the whole H1N1 flu thing is so cramping my style for the trip. I hope nothing happens while on this trip. Keep fingers crossed.

I haven't gone to see the film yet, but the new Xmen Wolverine movie has got to be nothing but sex-on-legs on screen.... with a cast like Hugh Jackman, Daniel Henney, Ryan Renalds, and... so many more abs. *sigh*
I am so gonna make it to the theater to watch it. I NEED to see those abs in huge, magnified theater setting. This will probably be almost as ab-by as the film 300. Damn, that was LOTS of abs... a total of... 2400 abs on screen! *wink* That's hot.

It is Monday, April 27th and I received my shots for my trip to Asia...
I received 3, count them, 3! shots!!! One in my shoulder, upper right
arm, and two in my left, upper arm. Dang, needles going in didn't hurt
as much as I thought they would... thank goodness to the really nice
nurse. =) I haven't received shots for the longest time and I couldn't
remember if they were going to hurt.
I also received two prescriptions to take abroad with me...
Azithromycin and Malarone. Azithromycin is a bacteria killing pill that
is supposed to be taken for diarrhea... yea, don't want to have
diarrhea when I'm aboard in a country infamous for not having American
style toilets. Malarone is a malaria prescription. Apparently, parts of
China and Malaysia has malaria and just being there, I can be exposed.
So, picking up the Malarone costed me a FREAKING $100 for 35 pills! I'm
supposed to take one everyday starting the day before I go. Guess
paying $100 for the pills is better than paying up my arse for medical
bills later... *fingers crossed*
I have to go back in 30 days to get my second shot of the hepatitis
series. Then, after 6 months, get my third and final hepatitis shot. I
totally feel like a pin cushion. Thank God it wasn't more shots. I was
so preparing myself to just be pricked in every which way possible to
get up-to-date with my shots.
The trip is still 6 weeks away, but I am so excited... and scared at
the same time. I haven't really left the country since I arrived here.
Yes, I know, I'm so lame for not traveling more. But, maybe this will
be the catalyst that will push me to really making it to Ireland and
Greece and Australia and New Zealand and Italy and ... ooh, you get the
picture.
I spoke to a friend yesterday about hotels in Beijing. She and her
boyfriend were really helpful in telling me how to travel in Beijing.
WATCH OUT FOR THE TRAFFIC they tell me. I cannot imagine how horrible
the traffic will be... no more 4-way stop signs with the nice little
sign beneath to TELL you it's a 4-way stop.... oh yes, I didn't have
those in Philadelphia either. *laff* I was pleasantly surprised by the
price of the hotels in HK and Beijing! They were very affordable. Well,
affordable to someone who's actually working... myself... I'm just
inking through. I am going to be so extra broke when I come back.
I had to go suitcase shopping over the weekend... I didn't get one
though... but I don't even have a sturdy enough suitcase for
international travel! That's how lame my traveling repertoire is. Don't
laugh at me. ;) So, I have to go and get myself a sturdy and larger
suitcase, along with a bigger, cross-my-heart, but cute shoulder bag to
hold all my necessities... like toilet paper. YES, TOILET PAPER. *laff*
I cannot imagine traveling with toilet paper in my bag... but I guess I
will have to learn. I am so going to be that ethnocentric American who
arrives in another country and ask "Why don't these people speak
English?" *laff*
Well, this little note has gotten to be pretty long. But, if you've
stayed with me this long, I hope you'll come back and read as I jot
down my experience of being a first time international traveler in the
next few weeks.
