     All jokes aside.

I call this my AnD family and I treat it as such. Although showbiz is a business, this is a part of me that must remain.

This post is about an unfortunate incident that happened to my family today. Four burglars entered my parents house and stole all the family heirlooms along with important things tied to my sisters wedding that is scheduled to occur in 2 weeks.  Many things held sentimental value including necklaces my grandmother left for us before she died, my father’s Buddha charm made-from-elephant tusk necklace given by his mother before her loss of speech, and my sister’s wedding money and wedding rings; adding to a sum of $25K.

If my mom entered the house 10-15 minutes earlier than she did, she might have been in grave danger. I’m thankful that no one was hurt. That is everything. Thank you, God.

Our struggle remains as we seek to find the means to replace everything needed for Dary’s wedding in two weeks. Once again, this mission will put our hearts to the test.

This internment camp baby will not rest until his little sister gets the wedding she deserves. Dary is one of those people in this world that can show you all the goodness of life within 3 sentences. She is the wind that makes you want to fly. Without her, I would be nothing. Her happiness means more than any career success in this world. (Well, I can always fall back on being the best film-fighting homeless that ever lived.)

Right now, it’s not just about a wedding; this is about integrity, perseverance and the relentless will of a family; this is war... NOT a war against those that wronged us, NOT a war against financial disposition… but a war against ourselves, our own frustration, our own pride, our own weaknesses; for it will test the strength of our unity, our passion, and our love.

What I DO know is it’s gonna take more than a bullet in the heart to hold me back. (But if you have 2 bullets and good aim, then please don’t shoot or don’t aim, one or the other.)

I do not wish for pity or anything, just to share my journey in hopes that you will share yours. For after everything is said and done in this world, all we really have is the people shared in this journey (through thick and thin, thick food and thin food, thick accents and thin accents (Now you know for sure that I’m talking about AnD people hehe)).

That is the worst kind of news. Savvy's brother in law was killed during a botched robbery. I'm glad your mom was no where near when it took place. On a brighter note, where can one send a wedding gift for your sister/family? You don't have my pity, but you do have my love. Now stop crying and give me a hug you big softy.

    oh DY
I'm so sorry for you, Dary and your family
I'm glad your mum was safe though

that's the thing with burgulary - sometimes it is portrayed as 'cool' in popular culture but often the story of those stolen from is left out

D.Y. I'm so sorry for Dary and the family, I hope somehow the heirlooms can be traced, burglars will usually try to sell things to a pawn shp, hopefully the police can get the items back. At least your mum is safe, like you say if she had entered sooner it could have been much worse. Truly sorry D.Y

    D. Y., my thoughts go out to you and your family. I'm glad everyone is safe and from across the globe, I'm cheering you all on.

I hope and wish your sister shall have the wedding of her dreams and that, through some strange twist of fate, the dearest of what was lost shall find it's way back to you.

*sigh and takes a deep breath*

nothing much we can say when all the terrible things had happened already. i/you/we dont wish this to happen to any1. its a big lost for the heirlooms your grandparents left for your parents is gone. its also very heartbreaking with Dary's wedding gifts gone too and i'm sure those were worked hard for. Yes thank God no one was hurt and something did hold your mom back for that couple of minutes. things we can replace but with our loved ones we can't. life "is" a battle, we live to learn and experience. i wish you and your family the best luck and lots of blessings. i also wish for those burglers to get caught and serve their time.
it is not right to steal from hard working people >_>

10yrs ago my parents got seperated, my little bro and i lived with my mom in this little aparment. theives broked through our patio slide window and took our belongings, we were struggling at the time and didnt have much, started out new and fresh. i was surprised they didnt take my jar of pennies xD but anyways our neighbor witness it & wrote down the license plate. my cousin identified the vehicle and knew who it was(they were asians). my mom contacted the thieve's parents. the parents found our items in their backyard and immediately called back to return it. God will bless and protect those who havent done wrong, DY :). we were also 5-10mins late on the burglery.

That sucks man. I can relate to losing irreplaceable items like that. It's one of the worst things you can experience.

Good thing nobody was hurt. Reminds me of the time I was staying at the Retan Hotel in Hollywood. Some guy was going through my window while I was sleeping! That stuff seems to happen a lot down here.

Hope you have photos of the most important heirloom items ~ could help the police recover the family property ... AND maybe catch the creeps involved!

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Sadly a lot of people don't really seem to believe that anymore, but you are one taught, homeless best film-fighter ever lived. Therefore  I'm sure you will be a great support for your family. So glad to know thou that no one got hurt.

Hope all works out well and they catch those sorry a$$ thieves (¬_¬).

Sorry to hear about that, losing valuables like that is the worst.  At first I was thinking how lucky I was to never have had anything stolen, then I remembered I've been jacked a lot of times, just that it was never anything of real value.

Sorry for your family, at least I know you guys are strong together and you'll be able to put on a great wedding for Dary still.

That's very Unfortunate!  Hopefully you catch the scumbags who did it.  I hope that things turn out for the better!

I have a friend whose parents home was broken into quite a few years ago, turns out it was one of their nephews who broke in with a couple of friends, Talk about Family!  Funny Thing is the Nephew's sister found out about it and ratted him out.  Needless to say he spent a few years in jail.

Damn....I read John's tweet last night and knew things weren't good but I didn't know it was this bad.  On the plus side I am so glad that none of your family was home when the house was hit.  Tis better to have the family increase in numbers, not go the other way.

If there were pics of the family heirlooms, then giving them to the police might help.  Start looking in pawn shops....sometimes these things resurface, especially if these thugs are looking for quick cash for drugs or something.

I hope a police report was filed so that your parents can claim some of their losses on their 2009 tax return.  I know this probably seems like a cold statement, but I want to put it out there while this incident is "fresh."  It will offer a bit of financial relief come next April.

Damn, D.Y.  I wish I lived closer so that I could help with "man-power" to make Dary and John's wedding a happier occassion.  I know this is a devastating blow, one that you and your family certainly didn't deserve.  I hope that your family (& John's) and friends pull together and can smooth this speedbump over.  I guess there will be a lot to be thankful come the 3rd Thursday of this month.

Thank you for sharing.  No pity...just a heartfelt loss for you and your family and big hugs of encouragement to help you all keep going.  **hugs**

oh, wow. what an arrow to the heart. i am soooo sorry to hear this. and so relieved no one was harmed..very difficult about the things with great meaning being taken, that's hard.

you still find a way to keep humor, that's a fantastic gift because it helps to heal the heart. in a very odd way this will make the celebration of dary's wedding even more special. you all know with crystal clarity what it takes some a liftetime to discover.

hang in there & know good thoughts are with you. *major, i'm talking really really major {{hugs}} to you & your fam*

OMG! I feel bad for you all. You're right though in that you have each other and nobody was in harm's way. For a robbery to have taken place now, 2 weeks before a wedding, seems a bit fishy....

Wow sorry to hear about that.  I hope they can catch the criminals before they hock everything, but I know your family will be strong and your sister's wedding will be phenomenal despite this terrible ordeal... do not let these petty crooks ruin the most important things in life.  My parents' house was robbed a few yrs ago too.  My mom returned home to find the side door smashed open.  Luckily she didn't arrive earlier.  Also by good luck, our family dog, a little tiny poodle, was away getting groomed that day otherwise I'm not sure what the robbers would've done to her, but I doubt she would be alive today.  We rushed home after the cops checked the premises and the whole house was a complete ransacked mess.  They threw everything on the ground and all over the house to find tons of valuables and sentimental objects.  My laptop somehow ended up in a completely different room smashed to the floor.  TVs were overturned.    You name it.  Months later they arrested the group of thugs that had robbed many other houses, but by then, mostly everything had been pawned and untraceable for return.  But at least they were caught and hopefully stopped victimizing others.

It sucks to lose sentimental items, but remember, the most important thing is everyone is safe and no matter what sentimental items and valuables they took, everything's still locked up in your hearts and memories and you are still there for each other.

I hope that you guys can replace everything that was stolen for Dary's wedding. My best wishes to you and your family.

I sure hope they catch the burglars... **hugs to DY and family**
