    "Kobe Luminarie" is a light festival in Kobe, Japan every December. It began in 1995 and commemorates the Great Hanshin earthquake of that year.

    The event was designed to give the residents "hope" and "light" to reconstruct their severely damaged city.

     

    「神戸ルミナリエ」は１２月に開催される光の祭典です。1995年に阪神大震災のあった年から始まりました。

    「koube ruminarie」wa、jyuuni-gatu ni kaisai sareru hikari no saiten desu。Sen-kyuu-hyaku-kyuujyuu-go-nen ni hansin-dai-sinsai no atta tosi kara hajimarimasita。

     

    ルミナリエには、神戸の人々に「希望」と「光」を与え、震災で傷ついた街を復興しようという想いが込められています。

    Ruminarie niwa、koube no hitobito ni 「kibou」to 「hikari」wo atae、sinsai de kizutuita mati wo hukkou siyou toiu omoi ga komerarete imasu。
