Clarence started pursuing songwriting and performance on the guitars from his early teens. Driven by his passion and constant intrigue of music, he is now a live and studio guitarist, guitar instructor and songwriter. His experience in performance has exposed him to various styles, including Bossa Nova, Swing, R&B, Funk, Blues, Gospel, Rock and English and Chinese Pop. Clarence's choice of rhythmic finger-picking style reveals strong influences of R&B, Funk and Jazz brought over from his bass guitar playing experience. Often doubling up as a vocalist during his shows, he enjoys rearranging popular numbers with his signature playing style, re-creating a fresh feel and groove for each song.
He has performed his originals and cover renditions overseas in Australia, Brunei and Hong Kong; at numerous weddings at five star hotels; as resident musician at local popular venues like Wala Wala, Timbre, Balaclava, Barstop, Oosh and Em By The River at Gallery Hotel; at corporate events for companies and societies such as Davis-Langdon & Seah, JTC, Deaf and Pediatric Society; and events such as the region's Aviation Awards, National Day shows at the Singapore Merlion and Fountain of Wealth, The New Paper Wedding Planner, the government initiated Real Love Works 2009 at the Marina Barrage and more recently, Firecrackers 2009 at the Esplanade Waterfront Outdoor Theatre.
He's recently performed his orginals overseas at Backstage Live, Hong Kong, with jazz/ contemporary duo, "Uncanny Sounds". He's also aired his jazzy arrangement of Maroon 5's Sunday Morning with Uncanny Sounds on OKTOLive, an independant TV programme in Singapore.
He is currently teaching, songwriting and performing regularly at weddings and events and as "Hush" at Wala Wala, Singapore.
