this was kinda amazing, we only had the equipment for one day and it the best shoot in a long while.

nothing beats shooting on film, and nothing beats me filming on the arri 2. and the best thing is nothing really beats u having fun on set, despite the early morning rush to catch the sunrise.

this being my first camera attempt and directing attempt, i was so lost, as i still am now, but it was such fun having my friends on set as cast & crew.

i wonder if i will be able to recreate such a team...

drumming is something almost mythical, but yet draws an interest

it almost strikes me at heart when i had a talk with my grandmother

although non-drumming related, it's the pursuit of comfort in the sound of drums that sadden me

why can't i calm myself down anymore? and am always tense?

trying too hard to control situations i cannot control

A close friend brought me to the night festival opening ceremony in singapore where dancers were suspended in front of singapore's art museum was it?). it was beautiful, seeing pianos, boats, suspended in mid air "dancing" to the sound of music

This fiery section of night festival i've put in this album is one of the many performances. There was a water-based theme performance, a fire one and also projection of images onto a "water" - screen.

I like the flying dancers and floating piano & boat the best. But what that remained in my memories was the fire performance, the twirling balls of fire, the beat of the music, the energy of the dancers, the intensification of the performance by creating bigger balls of fire all mixed up my emotions.

At a time where things were not going well with my life, troubles I've brought upon myself. I was thinking, what are the consequences of revenge should I raise hell for someone I know too familiar? Who will I affect? And to what effect?

Before I came to realise, a project was born.

What a competition!

My old school's competing in the competition. I don't know anyone there though. Saw some great techniques being used!

It was totally cool!

There was this malay guy from ngee ann poly who was just really awesome. His techniques are the best for the entire night.

I've seen how the sport can change teenagers into "warriors" so to say. The spirit in their eyes left an impression on me. Seeing them fight in the hall is a memorable experience.

It is a spirit that will linger on for quite some time to come.

i were in the darkroom again

and i wish i can try my hands at toning

i've never tried that before

i wish, i can do prints again instead of digital post-processing

maybe i'm beginning to bug myself, go go..

but there are finiancial restrictions and in the face of this, digital for now is a good leadup to the next expression of ideas

revisiting the energy i had when it was just a few years back

how things have changed and yet, the change was forseen.

i've seen the way things would be but yet carry on thinking that there are some things that wouldn't come true. yet fate has proven me wrong. and yet, i've seen the change that would come.

it's funny how i write a story and then it comes true, some parts of it. and then i look back and say, sigh, i saw it coming

the short film is unfinished because it falls short

short in many ways, but it was a first attempt into independent filmmaking, and although unfinished, i hope i can one day revisit it
