Good thieves Bad thieves

As x'mas and new year is coming, everyone is in their celebration mood. Today is the first day of winter for chinese (dong zhi), and everything was pretty good, until i found out, the cash i had in my wallet has disappeared.
I stayed up until around 5a.m. last night before i go to bed, supposed to have gone to bed by 4a.m., but a roommate was using the bathroom. Anyhow, we didn'thas it as a habit to lock the door, but sometimes i will before i go to bed when everyone else was in bed. Last night was one of those night that i thought to myself, hack i'm tired, been so long already, maybe i'll juz leave it unlock. Today i was awaken by a few meaningless phone calls, not until 2pm was i out of bed. Made myself a decent meal. During the meal i smell something funny but stealthy. Then I went next room to borrow a key to a bicycle for tonite. While i was there we were chatting, and there were this smell as well, but i couldn't recognize. Somehow his roommate discovered on the floor matt there were this stains and it looked like crap. Seems like someone with shoes tat has stepped on crap has walked in the room without anyone's ackknowledgment. They started cleaning and i went back to my room.
As i was working part time at night, the friend called me and asked if anyone has lost any cash. I had no idea wat was going on then, and i checked my wallet wondering wat was up. To my suprise my 500 note was gone, damn. Luckily the other stuffs are still in place. i couldn't wait to get back to check if my other stuffs in the drawers has gone too. Luckily they all are still there.
Later i found out that the thievery took place early in the morning, around 7.12a.m. as it was shown in the security camera. I rationalized that if anyone needed money that bad and he has to resort to stealing, with crap on his shoes, must be pretty pity especially in this holiday season. I made it ok to think as if the thieve actually needed the money, visualizing someone wearing ragged clothes, in desperation, with a lot of guilt while doing his act. But instead i was told that he was someone young in his 20's, kind of big in size (i mean fat). Wearing a black jacket with white cloth on the inside, and a jean. He tried the rooms before mine but couldn't get in. He proceeded to my room, then to the one next to mine, and then the one opposite of mine. After someone walked pass the hallway, he changed floors to the 3rd and 2nd (mine is 5th).
I just don't get with his age and physical conditions, even if it's hard to find a job, wat actually prompts him to undergo such distasteful act, he should not have done it. Everyone might be guilty of stealing in one way or another. Come to think about it, it's the invasion of privacy tat's instigating, rather than the lost of money. Maybe if it's bigger amount then i will be enraged by the lost of money. I don't know if he's a good thieve, if there's a thing as a good thieve, as he has left other certs and cards in place. I guess wat seperates good thieves and bad thieves are the way they steal from other people. Good thieves would've stolen without being found out, leaving ur emotions either unchanged or even pleased, bad thieves are those that make your emotions go wild.
