"Hurricane Fist" at Comic Con 2009
2009-07-23 4:37AM / 標準BLOG
For anyone going to Comic Con, the film I starred in, "The Hurricane Fist," will be premiered at the Comic Con Film Fest on July 23 at 2:45 pm. I'm way excited as this is my first official film fest, and Comic Con is supposed to be something else. They've already sold all 100,000 tickets to this comic mania.
Also, there are crazy big time network shows being shown. I'm stoked!

I Tweet You Tweet
2009-04-15 1:43PM / 標準BLOG
So I've finally joined Twitter! You can follow me at http://twitter.com/CerinaTweets
This twitter thing is very strange... I'm not a big clubbing or partying person, so I find myself twitter (tweet?) -ing on where I'm eating or what movies I'm watching. Maybe about the dogs. I'm still not sure when everyone suddenly became so interesting that other people want to know what we're doing all the time, but what the heck, I'll give it a try.
I do worry though... Do you think some people do more outrageous things cause they know other people are following them? Does it bring out the exhibitionists in people? I suppose this has all been proven with the advent of reality TV. Going off on a tangent, I used to watch reality TV because I was interested in how people react in real situations. Now I hear it's all made up anyway, because they needed the shows to be more interesting, so what's the point? Why not just see a real show? Of course, I do watch some reality TV like Top Chef (which I love) and Project Runway, because the contestants are there for a certain purpose involving a skill. For the record, I don't consider prancing around half dressed so some self-important guy or gal might pick you over someone else a skill, but I digress.
Oh, and what about these docu-dramas? I'll tell you something- they actually cast actors for these things. I see breakdowns (wanted ads for actors) all the time looking for actors to apply. So yeah... it's not real "reality."
And I'm also not sure about his whole celebrity twittering to the world about their relationships. I don't know, but I think it's one of those thing you look back on in a few years and just wish you didn't do.
So anyway, I'm totally off point, Yes. Twitter. Pretty cool way to stay in touch and see what people are up to. I'll be on point with some pretty cool places to nosh. And the latest update on where Molly is going number two. (JK!!)

Bart Got a Room
2009-04-12 12:53AM / 標準BLOG
So March Madness has come and gone, I'm pretty proud of AZ for going as far as they did. Sure, they got pretty much stomped in the game against Louisville by losing with like the biggest margin ever in the tournament
, but they were totally the last Pac-10 team standing. That's pretty good for a team that everyone keeps claiming wasn't supposed to be in the tourney.
A couple days ago I went to go see "Bart Got a Room" with director Brian Hecker and a bunch of other actors after a Q&A with Brian. I found out it took him about 10 years to get this movie on the big screen, after he had already sold the idea to the studio. Ten years! My goodness, that is awesome dedication to your art. He's also a really cool guy and hilarious, just like the movie.
The movie is about a kinda geeky high school guy who's trying to get a prom date. My goodness, that premise must speak to at least half of America. Who hasn't live through that?? Like me. Oh yeah, I'm proud to say now that I too freaked out about not getting a date and in the end went with friends. Of course going through it was traumatic (what in high school isn't?), but really, looking back, I'm glad I had to go through that. I mean, if Brian didn't go through that, we wouldn't have a movie.
A while ago, I heard an interview from Reese WItherspoon where she said she didn't want her daughter's school to have a practice where kids would not be cut from tryouts for the sports teams, because the school was trying to make everyone feel accepted. Reese said that failure and rejection makes you interesting. Being always accepted and agreed with does not. I wholeheartedly agree with her.
As an artist, or even just as an interesting human being, you have to use those difficulties in your own life to relate to the world. Most everyone struggles through something. Being protected all the time is BORING. It doesn't build any character. You never know how strong you are until you are tested and come out the other side. Then you can look back and say, "If I can survive that, I can survive anything."

Starring William H. Macy, Cheryl Hines, Steven Kaplan, and Alia Shawkat.
Go see it if you can!

March Madness
2009-03-19 10:53AM / 標準BLOG
This is one of my favorite times of the year- March Madness, also known as the NCAA College Basketball Championships. This year, by the narrowest of chances, "my" alma mater team the Arizona Wildcats made it to the big dance. I would love the tournament even if they didn't, but this makes it all the better because now I have someone to root for :)
It's funny how the chances of your childhood shape you. When I was little, my brother collected basketball cards and gave me all his discards. So, without any real intention to, I started to collect basketball cards. I could never tell you what team a player was on, but I had a knack for remember what color jerseys they wore. I guess it didn't really matter what players' cards I had, since they were probably the cards that weren't worth very much anyway. It was also the glory days of the Chicago Bulls "3-peat" years, along with teams like the Lakers and Celtics with Magic and Bird. I can't believe now those are like the historic days of basketball, kinda like when Lew Alcindor and Bill Walton were the "good ole days" of the game when i was a kid.

HEADLINERS update #1
2009-01-15 1:44AM / 標準BLOG
OK, I'm taking some of the info from the Headliners' site to show you guys what's going on. We start shooting tomorrow, and had a costume fitting yesterday. The costumes are hot! Lots of lacy things and corsets and whatnot that make our human-like robot caberet dolls come to life. Also, it will be shot on the RED camera so it will look absolutely amazing.
