The following pictures were taken yesterday at the Edwards Ontario Palace Stadium IMAX Theatre in Ontario, California, during the special premiere event of the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman. The show was hosted by 4Color Fantasies and tickets were limited only to 150 attendees.
A couple of my old friends from the comic book industry showed up for the premiere show. Professional comic book inkers Danny Miki, Norm Rapmund, Marlo Alquiza, and Allen Martinez attended the event. Ki-Tae Kim, a good friend/comic book colorist/former co-worker at Image Comics, also joined the crazy party.
Everyone arrived around 8pm at the lobby of the theatre. We took a handful of photos with a fantastic Wolverine look-a-like actor then we headed out to Fuddruckers for dinner. After scarfing down some juicy Ostrich Burgers (Danny says it's 0% fat), we went back to the theatre around 10pm and was seated much earlier than the large crowd of attendees waiting in line to get in. (Special privileges!) The movie started midnight and ended around 2:20 am.

» Marlo Alquiza showing off his soda straw claws... But Wolverine just gives Marlo the middle finger (or claw) in return: (Note: Marlo thinks this is a racist photo of him since the "Chinese" fast food logo is over his head.)

» Freebies at the event — t-shirt, comic books, pins, candies, etc.

Looking back on it now, I think we were the loudest group in the screening room! Haha. We even got louder when a very sexy Megan Fox wearing cutoff jeans appeared on the screen during the preview of Transformers 2!
As for the movie, the story is somewhat close to the Wolverine origin comic book series called Weapon X. The actors did a great job and the CG action/fight scenes were impressive. There are comedic moments that break the serious tension and drama in the movie. I will definitely watch it again this weekend.
Special thanks to Danny Miki for getting the comic book artists group together again for a special movie night. And to Chris at 4Color Fantasies for hosting the event!
