Last night was the Martial Arts
Benefit for Quake Victims, which was put together by the Tiger Claw
Foundation and held at the Santa Clara Convention Center. We were
invited to perform along with a number of schools from around the Bay
Area. Each of us, therefore, were only given about a 5-minute time slot. As
it was a fundraiser, performers were also asked to pay the $20 admission fee.
According
to the Consulate General, the Bay Area has raised $1.34 million so

Since
food was not going to be provided, Aya and I stopped by Japantown in
San Jose beforehand for dinner, as it's been a few years since I've
been there and I was craving Minato rolls (spicy tuna rolls w/secret
sauce). Luckily, it wasn't too crowded when we got there, so we got a
table fairly quickly. We got two orders of Minato rolls and split an
order of their world famous teriyaki spareribs. *drool*
My palate has never been so
happy

When
we arrived at the venue, there was a huge line of people waiting to
purchase tickets and already a big crowd seated inside. The event
started late and we didn't go on until around 10 PM. Enjoyed watching
the other performances, but thought it was inappropriate when the
capoeira group was chanting "Free Tibet!" after theirs. I'm going to
try and put a video together from all the footage I
took.
