On Sunday, the 26th July, I passed by a shop name, Cheapy, located at A, G/F Daily House, 35-37 Haiphong Road in Tsimshatsui ( Cheapy has more then one branch) where consistently showing a clip of Michael Jackson performance from one of MJ's DVD concert.
I love MJ (who doesn't?)! So I was attracted by MJ's performance on the big screen. I was hesitated at first but then I went into the shop anyway. One of the salesman, also a manager of the shop recommended me to buy the 'BAD IN JAPAN' and told me the DVD just arrived from Japan and the concert was outstanding and the quality of the DVD was super. The DVD cost me HK$200. I was so happy and excited. BUT....
Please see for yourself ( attached picture showing on my 46" HDTV ) and I am sure you would feel the same.....
I feel disappointed, angry, frustrated. The shop obviously selling a copy DVD for an original which is definitely a fraud.
I hate and do not support pirate DVD. I have bought a pirate DVD without my consent.
I have checked with HMV and I was advised that Japan did not release the property right to Hong Kong market. Therefore, no shop in Hong Kong would have carried it. I have filed a report to Hong Kong Customs dept., Hong Kong police and Hong Kong Consumer Council.
Hopefully, this would be an alert to everyone, so that you, your relatives and friends will not be
the next victim.
