It was a long flight to Hong Kong, a tedious 9 hour flight, where I struggled to decide between watching Duplicity or....17 Again. It may seem like an easy choice (I'm sure everyone is cheering for Zac Efron at this stage), but I made my decision like the little girl in the Old El Paso commercial, which is also exactly how I drink - Why don't we have both? But similar to my drinking choices, both turned out to be a regret...because Duplicity was plain bad, and Zac Effron is a downright homosexual (not that there's anything wrong with it!).
I had quite a good chat with one of the air-hostesses, who enjoyed a few glasses of 'left over' red wine with me behind the curtains. I was merely waiting for the toilet, and she was chugging one down, not very professional so I called her on it. Her response: getting a glass and pouring one for me too. And like the little girl in the Old El Paso commericlal, I thought to myself - Why don't we have both? hahaha Nothing happened, I was very much used when after our chat and red wine, she gave me the "feedback form" to fill out - bribing me with wine and women...my only weaknesses!
Taxi-drivers in HK are a funny lot, their perspective on society is quite accurate. I learnt everything there was to know about HK's politics, history, economy, society and entertainment scene in one taxi-ride. Not a bad way to spend $100HK!
You can find everything in HK, it is quite my haven. I am an avid vintage and junk collector, my parents call it wasting money, my ex girlfriends call it "eww what is it?" and my friends don't really give a shit, but I call it treasure hunting. It's merely a past-time, but I don't do it because I want to buy pieces of crap, it is more for the satisfaction of seeing/playing with the old pieces of crap still around (that's why I also like museums). And to think you can actually buy those pieces of crap! - that's a beautiful thing. Easily satisfied? Just easily amused.
The amusement leads to buying a toy for my niece
- Its a hand-puppet, and it wasn't from a junk shop, it was from quite a high-end toy store. There was actually another cow, but it was $3000HK, get the fuk out of here. So I chose this one instead, it was on the display window, and the last one of it's kind. I had to have it!
- What a curious cow, what a happy moo.
The amusement was further amplified, when a woman shouted "Very sweet, very juicy! 3 for $20!" in the middle of Portland Street. It couldn't possibly be that cheap in HK...could it really be that cheap in HK's Red light district? I had to touch it...not only that, she let me taste it! It was indeed very sweet and juicy". Impulse buying leads to...
Tiny, Palm-sized watermelons x 6 - it was seriously watermelons for dessert every night. Excessive....
On the way back to Oz, it was yet another long trip. My mother asked me "Why are you drinking so much?". What else am I supposed to do for 9 hours? Seriously.

- But it really wasn't that much. Mothers and their worrying - bah!
Asahi "Dry" is a pretty good beer, made me want to buy one of these:
I should tell Yui to get me one in Japan when she goes! The Asahi Beer Buddy!
And I am seeing this poster around Sydney constantly, and everytime I see it, I can't help but love it all over again.
Miranda Kerr - Yes please! But placed outside a public toilet? Not very appropriate. But if that picture can be seen on the inside..mate, Tony would live in there!
Lisa (a co-worker, who dresses, for lack of a better word, like a prostitute) goes "I wish I had that body". Yes, good for you, but please don't call me a playboy anymore, and shout in the middle of Geogre Street in a high-pitched, borderline ditzy voice "Where are we going?", attracting the stares of many passer-bys, who looked at her, then looked at me. Some may have said 'Good for you', but others would have definitely thought "How much?".
