I'm sitting here staring at an engineering homework problem, just staring. I have everything set up to start writing; I have the pencil on top of the notepad, the book opened to the right page, and a calculator on the desk. It's not that I don't know how or even worried. I'm actually just doing some practice problems that weren't assigned. I am a procrastinator; I like to distract myself with mundane objects or tasks until the last minute, so that's why I'm here.

Things are great, and for the time being my days can only be described as comfortable.

I feel like I'm missing out sometimes, like somewhere in the world someone just told a joke, and I wasn't there to hear it.  I probably would have laughed or even appreciated it.  Ultimately, I wish I could make more of my day.

It's almost time to go home.  The longer I stay here the less I feel inclined to go back, but I know that I have family and friends who want to see me, to make sure that I'm happy and still alive.  Which I'm thankful for and excited to see them in what feels like a long time. 

Home will be a nice break from all this.
