Back in Hong Kong!!!!

It is so great to be back in Hong Kong.

I'm going to be very busy this summer with my music, starting a new company with my best friend and getting my drivers license (finally :P)

I got back on saturday the 19th of june, just in time to celebrate my 20th birthday with all my friends. was a wonderful night but as soon as the clock struck 12am, i was gone. drank way too much but i thot fuck it, its my last night as a teenager, lets make some teenager mistakes. binge drinking is not a good idea kids, especially if you dont want to have photos of yourself passed out at a club surfacing on facebook....

Was one of the most epic nights i have ever had. Big thank you to my girlfriend for organizing everything for me and her friends for helping us book the club. Also want to thank Alice (i think thats her name) at Volar for making everything happen and also the owner of Volar for giving me two bottles of champagne. Will definitely be coming back for more parties if we are still welcome that is :p hahha

I also want to take this opportunity to tell you kids out there who have a passion or a dream to pursue it. don't ever let anything put you down. if someone says your not good enough, listen to them and reevaluate your self, but never let that shit get to you. Keep doing what your doing and make sure that your happy and your proud of what your doing. If you have one of those typical asian parents where they want you to go to school and get a good education afterwards, do it. But at the same time work on your craft and prove to your parents that you truly have a passion for what your doing. Never get angry at your parents if you dont see eye to eye with everything, they're just looking out for your best interest. Don't take your parents for granted.

Anyway, thats all for today. just got back from a 6 hour poker game and watching the world cup. Congratulation to Korea and Argentina.

Im gunning for Argentina this year. Put a lot of money on them already :p

Back when Hip Hop was just starting, DJs and Producers would use other songs to create a hip hop beat. This is what we call sampling.

I love Hip Hop because through listening to various Hip Hop songs, it opens you to different genres that I'd never thought I'd ever listen to. For example, French singer Charles Aznavour. I'd never thought in a million years that I would listen to that type of music, but because Dr. Dre and some other producers have sampled him for Hip Hop beats, enthusiasts and hip hop fiends may come across a Charles Aznavour song for sampling reasons but end up appreciating his music.

Lately, I have discovered Billy Stewart. An old American soul singer. Just Blaze sampled "cross my heart" for Jay Electronica's song "Exhibit C". The only reason I even came across Billy Stewart was because of Just Blaze and Jay Elec.

I believe Hip Hop is kind of like a "gate way drug". Some of you may start listening to Hip Hop but then as you become more and more into it, you start doing your research and embrace other genres of music because certain Hip Hop songs embodies all different genres of music.

I hate it when people say things like, "Hip Hop and rap is shit. It's just yoo yoo yoo n***a what what bust a cap in yo ass". thats fuckin ignorance. These people need to do their research before they start judging hiphop. The complexity that goes into producing a hip hop beat is similar to making a rock song or a classical piece.

Music is a universal language and all music deserves the same respect and appreciation, as long it has some quality and context.

I have linked both exhibit c and cross my heart. see if you guys can hear how Just Blaze rearranged everything. It's beautiful

Ski Beatz, Where art thou Mixtape????

Ski Beatz is one of my favorite producers of all time. He produced Jay-Z's Dead Presidents and my favorite song of all time Luchini aka This is it by Camp Lo.

When I heard Ski Beatz was linking up with Damon Dash for this new project called CreativeControl I was a bit skeptical. But then I listened and watched some of the shit they were doing. My respect for Damon Dash has definitely come back and i gotta say, what they are doing is fuckin amazing. People, go youtube and type in creativecontroltv. You will not be disappointed.

On to the subject now. Ski Beatz was meant to release a mixtape called 24hour karate school with artists such as Curren$y, Cool Kids, Stalley, Mos Def, Wiz Khalifa etc....

I have been waiting way too long for this mixtape and once it comes out I'm going to be playin it for fuckin 24hours straight. Ski Beatz goes hard on his shit.

Legion......... wtf .......

Just got back from the movies with my friends. We decided to watch legion, it looked pretty cool. I thought it was going to be some sort of X-Men type shit but no.....

No offense to you Christians out there but this movie was a piece of shit. It was seriously a glorified Bible Story. Angel's who kill people? God testing the Angels? Angel's wings were bullet proof? Doesn't that shit completely contradict the teachings in the "book" of Christ?

Do not go watch it, if you have try to forget it. It wasn't good at all. The acting, epsecially form the dude that was in Tokyo Drift, was shit. Only good acting came from Tyrese Gibson and the man who played Percy.

Again, no offense to you religious people. I have absolutely nothing against religions.

Legion is shit.
