2 inspiring movies...

it's raining outside, hence another entry to meet fellow AnD members and the cyber world!

think i'm getting reluctant to move these days...last night went out celebrating my manager's birthday with a karaoke session which lasted for about 6 hours, then went for supper (drink) until 3am when we finally left...i think i only went to sleep around 4:30am, wasn't really sleepy but physically i was tired, wandered around online, AnD, Fansu.net forum, etc...

surprisingly woke up at 8:15am, and when i saw the time was THIS EARLY, i forced myself back to sleep until 11:19am, a call on my cell phone, a missed call...unknown number. did not bother to call back, if it was urgent, that person would've called again or sent an sms...

today is a public holiday here in Malaysia, the Muslims are changing their calendars, which means it's their New Year's day today...

was basically fighting with myself whether to wake up and go to the office (to clear some chores, less disturbance on a public holiday)...washed my face, brushed my teeth...the sky was all grey...ohh, please!

and it started to rain...i find it annoying to go out on a rainy day (if this is not an excuse to be lazy), everybody's gotta be fighting for indoor parking lots, or any parking lots that is available on a rainy public holiday! where did all these cars come from?! take a bus instead you say? well, i hate using an umbrella, it's windy and i don't really know how to 'navigate' an umbrella, and i don't wanna get wet, seems like 'sickness' is in the air...

what a mouthful of excuses! so i stayed in. did nothing. holidays are meant for resting!! for God's sake...my LCD monitor's having a holiday too, refusing to on again. i think it's the adapter, must have it checked one of these days. i can't see clearly on this old CRT...

so i switched on the TV...was flipping the channels and saw a Drag Queen singing...the movie title was " Kinky Boots", a British film about a man who inherited the family's ailing shoe-making business, and when he almost sold off the business, opportunity struck when he saw a Drag Queen performing in easily worn out boots...

after this show was over, i was again flipping channels, but went back to Star Movies and watched " Akeelah and the Bee" bcuz i saw a girl spelling...why on earth is she spelling all those words like that...

i can't help but see that these 2 films were about being different and how to fit in...something like me, although i think i fit in well, but it's not always like that...and in a way, though normal people we are, we do draw some attention of some sort, one time or another, for good things we've done, bad things we've done, crazy things we've done, stupid things we've done, or just simply being ourselves...we are indeed celebrities in our very own way...there will be judgments from others, accusations, just like celebrities being chased by paparazzi (p/s i didn't know paparazzi is a plural form of paparazzo), due to their fame, they have wider media coverage...last night's karaoke session, we were joined by a company's ex-employee, this ex-staff turns out to be one of my college mate's ex-boyfriend...what a small world, and indeed, Kota Kinabalu though a city by its name, is still a very small place...i can't help to feel surprised that this guy heard about me...the last time something like this ever happened was back in high school, some random person out of school just told me that they heard about me (bcuz i'm half Japanese that speaks Chinese, which is very rare here), don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing...bcuz it means, i'm being watched whatever i do...i don't like attentions, freaks me out...a little attention on good things i do is acceptable, but not to an excessive extent...i'd still like to remain anonymous from where i stand right now...
