Last Saturday, after mid-night, I scanned what's on the showing on TV as usual. By accident, I came across a Korean movie called

    Windstruck (2004- 내 여자친구를 소개합니다.

I was attracted by one of the songs in the movie - Tears by X Japan.

To my surprise, I saw an full page ad that Yoshiki-san from X Japan is coming to HK in 14 Sep.

Very much looking forward to seeing him!
  • Tokyo Food File 02 - Jazz meets Yakitori

    Friday, Aug 1, 2008 12:09AM / Members only

Can you imagine while you are eating a bowl of Chinese beef noodles and there's a group in front of you playing jazz?   Don't get me wrong,  I have not seen this neither however I had a chance to visit a 居酒屋 at 用賀,  世田谷區 where they has something special to offer. You can enjoy live music while tasting Yakitori and 燒酒.  I was invited to this bar by my piano sensei for his live jazz performance there.  This 居酒屋 is actually a platform for those music lovers to play their music.   I like the concept. For those new and unknown musicians, the admission fee for their show is less expensive, just 500 yen while for some shows featuring experienced musicians, the fee will be a bit higher.  The bar owner will then split the admission fees with the musicians after the show. Of course, it all about music and the chance to meet the audience. It's actually not the food and the environment impressed me but the passion of the people there did. Especially, the waitress and the owner of the bar. While my piano sensei and his partners playing jazz, the waitress go on the stage and jam with them.  That's awesome.  Well, maybe some of the waitress there will become up and coming singers, who knows. Although the audiences were scarce, they still played wholeheartedly with passion.  Well, they of course not very content about the number of audiences but this is the reality, perfection is hard to achieve. I will introduce the standing bar of my piano sensei, 塚原充典 san, to you...... next time. http://www.kinsmc.com/kinnotsubo/concept.html 東京都世田谷区用賀2-36-13アイリス用賀ビルB1 03-3707-0346
  • Imagination of ULTRA (超人)

    Saturday, Jul 19, 2008 3:10AM / Members only

I have heard that Ultraman 2008 is coming! It will be on big screen in Japan this summer.  I have never been a big fan of Ultraman even I was in my childhood but I would like to introduce to you a photo book - "Objects" Imagination of ULTRA by 白鳥舍。

Through work on a cosmetic project in Japan, I have pleasure to have chance to get to work with this interesting couple, Teruuchi-san  and Hori-san.  They are well experienced photographers who are fun and kind to be with.  Teruuchi-san and Hori-san are like typical big brother and big sister.  They worked on watches and cosmetic products photo shooting for a long time.  I then discovered that they have published a book on Ultraman featuring props with historical value.  Most of them were used since 1960's -1980's of the Ultraman series. If you are a big fans of Ultraman then you maybe able to tell in which episode those props were being used.  So happen if you were in Japan then please go and get this book.  It is with a lot of heart that this couple and their friends published this book back in 2004 without any profit at all.

I have to thank them for offering help to me when I was staying in Japan.  Much appreciated!  It was with a lot of fun and joy to work with them as I always ask them to help on photo shooting for free and they never say no!  :)

Looking forward to have 燒肉with them.

Recently, one of my Japanese friends in AliveNotDead asked me to give her some recommendation on good restaurants in Tokyo especially in Shibuya, Meguro and Ebisu areas.  Before my memory fades out (I'm getting old), I list out some in this Blog.

Of course, going to these restaurants and standing bar, I tried lots of tasty cusines.  It is also the best ways to spend time with friends, get to know the latest gossips and meet new people (Gokon...joking \(^o^)/ ).  I have to thank my friends who invited me to many of their favorite restaurants.

In Tokyo, no matter if the restaurant is the most expensive restautant or it is a tiny ramen shop, they have high standard in serving good food to their customers.  That's why I missed Tokyo so much.

Time flies, it's been almost a year now since my returned from Japan on 4 July last year.......

This is a very touching exhibition and everyone should see this.  I attended the exhibition in 2007, Odaiba, Japan.

From the installation of the Museum to the theme of the show, every bit of the details are well plan and you can see the heart of it.  Not sure when this will be released in Hong Kong....

The DVD was lost when I returned to Hong Kong from Tokyo.  I have to buy the DVD again, it's an exhibition worth seeing.  Visit the web sites below and enjoy!
