I watched the new series V last night and I was wondering if anyone else watched it and if so how does it compare to the old series?

I`ll bet I watched the old mini-series but who remembers?  How was the 2009 version?

Well Flag it started out pretty good almost like the classic with a few differences. The scifi channel played the entire series sunday (old one).

Darn. I wanted to see this last night but I had to work. I'll have to catch it online. I was too young to see or really remember the original series.

I loved the old series but I was pretty young when it came out so I'm not sure if it was really as cool as I remember
I'll try to catch an episode of the new version at some point.

I loved the original, I mean the original mini series, it was must see TV back in whenever it was, I hope the new one comes to the UK I really want to see it.

Nice memory Starry,lol. I just hope the show lasts for more than one season. The last time I got into an alien type show it was cancelled after one season(INVASION).

I just realized that the woman who I guess is the head lizard (?) with the short black hair is Inara from Firefly/Serenity.  I used to like her in that role.  Maybe I will take a look at this.

I agree. I remember liking the show as well when I was a kid but manyof those old shows don't always stand the test of time. I didn't catchthe new show either but will look for it on-line at some point.


That was a good show. There were a few others that got canceled that same year. I'm a big fan of sci fi shows and that year many of the networks were trying to capture the same success and audience that tuned into Lost.

she is pretty much the only reason i watched this to begin with.  but, i kinda liked the remake, didn't make me puke. (i loved the original back in the day)

I didn't know she was in it, I saw a brief trailer for it on one of the channels over here so it must be coming on here at some point.

I havnt seen the new version, but as far as I can remember the old version scared the shit outta me But what the hell I was only a little turd back then when it aired

Last nights episode was pretty good a lot of changes from the original but they say change is good,lol.

I was disappointed that Alan Tudyk turned out to be a V... he would've been good for comic relief.

After seeing him(alan) in V I guess he's not coming back to The Dollhouse?

I never saw the old one, but the new one is okay. They seem to be setting things up nicely, so I'm kind of anxious to see how they'll unfold. The effects are a bit of a let down though.

I don't get the Alan Tudyk appeal man, I thought he was bland in V (although we're only two episodes in) and he wasn't good in Dollhouse (Then again no one seems to be except Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj). I never really got into Firefly/ Serenity. Saw the movie and the first two eps, but for a show which purely from it's premise sounds like I should worship it, it doesn't do anything for me at all. Odd, since I actually like most of the cast members and most of Whedon's work, though some of his stuff is just wasted on me since it often seems like ego-wank only he himself likes. (I am only now realizing the disgustingness of that sentence)
