The Forbidden Kingdom

I watched The Forbidden  Kingdom, it's great! It's worth to see Collin fighting with Jet and Jackie. The Kung Fu is good, reasonable amount of special effect usage (no over use), and more real physical action. I really like the fact that there are many real physical Kung Fu actions and the choreography are nice.

The Jade Warlord (Collin), is very cool, and "ancient" fashionable
The costume that has two open mouth tiger on the shoulder is interesting.

p.s. "Any hint hint on your next project ? Hope we don't have wait like a giraffe."

I thought Collin pulled off an amazing performance in Forbidden Kingdom. Sure I was distracted by the blue eye shadow, but once I got past that, his martial arts skills are top notch. The way he unleashed those kicks somewhat reminded me of the fight against Jet Li in Bodyguard from Beijing.

I would love to see him get a lead role in a Hollywood film with Hong Kong style choreography. Now that this film was a hit, let's see what happens!!!

I like the opening, with those old kungfu movie posters,me and friend were spending the short while, trying to recognize who'swho in those poster, name, still acting or not, etc

Despite the shadow  >_<! scenes of Jackie vs Jet and Jet vs Jade WarLord, are amazing.
A good chance to see how different weapons can be fight together (when silentmonk fight with Jade WarLord)

Micheal did a good job, may be it has something to do with hisdancebackground, his family are dancers and had open several studios. He looks convincing, like a martial art movie fans. And I like that he sometimes look silly, I mean, it wouldn't work that well, if they cast someone who is super cute and handsome, party kind of guy, it doesn't look innocent enough.

I am glad Jason and Gold Sparrow didn't kiss. When I was watching the movie, I was like "Don't, Don't kiss, Don't ruin it".  Um....how to explain. Well, I will refer from stargazer234, she kind of speaks my heart this time. Not all underlying attraction/feelings relationship need to get all mushy. And there should be priority and discipline, doing what's most important, their mission, not getting mushy, coz they feel like to suddenly. Self control and  temper control.

Those out doorscenes, the dessert and the lake are beautiful.

I enjoyed those "Chinglish" jokes in the movie, I am glad I watched the English version. I am curious if non-Chinese speaker would understand those jokes or not.

I am so glad, everyone *dress creatively normal and reasonable in the movie. Jade Warlord costumes are very nice and luxury, with all those embroidery. Thankx to Shirley Chan.

*I remember many years ago, a lady in a movie, wear a Chinese Opera male scholar shoe. This kind of things are some of the nightmare that I worry will happen in movies.

I really enjoyed this film as well - it was just an entertaining honest to god old fashioned martial arts movie. I thought Colin Chou was excellent as the baddie and really enjoyed his showdown with Jet Li at the end of the movie. I actually think the eye shadow looked cool in a hokey kind of way.

I liked this film too! The effects were great, as were the fights. And I totally dig the eyeshadow and his outfit.
