So... Actually Cloudz7, I have no idea what they're talking about to the extent that I wonder if someone was pretending to be me in the chat room.

The last time I was there I was being hugged to the point of suffocation by Pongza and RenRen - but I definitely said some type of goodbye.

Also - just for the record... I would't "get pissed" and leave - just not in my nature.

If I left all of a sudden ever chances are I'd have been pulled away for work and then auto-logged out.  The chat room has a timer which I can't control... so... until alivenotdead includes a much desired chat room.... it's the best I can do.

I certainly appreciate the commotion and concern though and I hope that I'm still a member in good standing on Pongza's lick list.

Mark, sigh feel like being a music performer...Have distinctions in all my piano grades, have a gd ear to translate what i hear into my piano playing, can sing very well (my friends all asked me to join competitions, i sound like Stephanie Sun-Singaporean chinese pop singer)...i love jazz, but somehow i dunno how to start it out in the real world...Have joined a pop music school before in my country, but they only select like 1 or 2 to sign contracts out of like 4 batches of music ppl...Have jammed with Ritz Carlton jazz band (Fly me to the moon & Over the rainbow) and they asked me to watch them every week which i didnt...that time went to a Chinese restaurant think called Da Shanghai or Beijing, played piano for fun on stage and the current pianist called me to play when he's unavailable. But that time i was an auditor, so rejected him.

I dunno how to start, wat to do...my options (sing chinese pop songs, sing and play chinese pop, play jazz which i have to upgrade myself coz it's not easy, play all kinds of genre, sing all kinds of genre?). How to get that break?

I'm not sure exactly why you were rejecting some of the opportunities that came your way.  But for yourself...   What do you visualize as the end goal here?  If you want to enter into the music of pop you really are going to need to figure out your very specific personality and commit to that and brand it and be it and sell it.  Sounds like you might be in the genre of Nora Jones, but I don't know.  

The music industry is in such flux right now - it is at once the greatest time and the worst time.  It is the worst time for those who dream of having a studio take care of them and send them acrosss the world and the best time for those who just want to get out there sharing their music.

A lot of what I would suggest would be in my last three blogs.  But to you I would say really focus on figuring out who you are and how you can share that as a definable quantity.  Anyone trying to sell themselves to a larger audience must think of themselves as a product.

Hmm...we'll see about putting you back on her lick list.

Hey Mark, to answer your qns, it's becoz i was afraid the performing would disrupt with my teaching schedule. Previously was an auditor, so too busy to take on.

Anyway think i told you before, u look hotter with short hair...do post a new profile pic soon haha. Perhaps more gals would be added on to your Lick List....tsk tsk
