I think that Nem means that because she saw POTC 2 so quick after it was released, it's going to make waiting for POTC 3, which won't be out until next summer, harder.
Or in other words, she wished she would have waited for awhile to see POTC 2, then the wait for POTC 3 wouldn't have been as long, or in her words, bad.
There, does that make things clearer, Seeker? :funbounce:

Ugh. This movie was just flat out important. I feel like I've been stretched out

My dad popped in Kung Fu Hustle last night and my mom watched it too (they've seen it multiple times). I was gonna just watch some of the beginning, but I couldn't help but watch the whole thing.

I wasn't a huge fan of The Beat That My Heart Skipped. I was told I should be but I couldn't.
I just saw
16 Blocks
last night with Bruce Willis.
It was ok, and it had a few minor twists to it -- Donner did a good job. Here's what really effected me. Bruce Willis. I just realized that the guy has one good quality. While he tosses off lines kind of casually, almost in a cool white boy mode, I UNDERSTAND EVERY WORD HE SAYS. I'm so tired of having to use subtitles in AMERICAN movies because I can't understand their speech. Thank you Bruce.

I stumbled upon a little gem of a movie on TV this afternoon called 'Maybe Baby', with Hugh Laurie (Dr. House), and Joely Richardson as a successful couple battling infertility. That may not sound like a funny subject, but in this film it often is (meaning it has it's sensitive moments also). Others in the cast are Mr. Bean (Roland Atkinson) as one of the wife's fertiliy specialists :laugh4:, Tom Hollander, with a wonderful Scottish (I think?) accent as a film director, and the delicious James Purefoy as an actor. Ben Elton, who wrote the book it is based on and the witty screenplay, also directed it.

Finally got to see this--liked it, but the story was kinda hard to follow. Keanu Reeves should do animation all the time--he's a better actor in this movie

I've heard that was good, Jemma.
Bad, A Scanner Darkly isn't playing anywhere in my area. Even then, I'm not sure it's something I'd pay to see.
I saw 'You, Me, and Dupree' yesterday and thought it was a very enjoyable movie. It's not just all the silly stuff that it shows in the previews... it also has a sensitive side.

I can understand that--this movie is very different and kinda depressing when you think about it

The Most Wanted- Lau Ching Wan is an undercover cop and, of course, only two people on the force know it. One is killed and the other is a right rotten b*stard who won't acknowledge who he really is. Funny to see the fat guy from 'Bodyguard from Beijing' as the only cop who finds out the truth.
When the Last Sword is Drawn- Not as good as Twilight Samurai, but in the same vein. Keeping track of everyone was a little difficult from the way the story was told.

A Scanner Darkly is depressing because it involves corruption and drug abuse. I don't want to say more and SPOIL it for you

Neil Young - Heart of Gold
- it's really a wonderful "concert" film and I don't usually like concert films for some reason.
The old dog can still bang out the songs and while I find his lyrics cliche' ridden, they just come off authentic.
Half new, half old tunes. All good. 99.9% acoustic.
Worth a look, even for those of you who were never fans. These are all good ol' professional musicians who pulled this masterpiece together in less than a couple of weeks! It FEELS fresshhhh.
Jonathan Demme directed and he's only half the maverick Young is.
I've watched it twice now, and I may pop it in one more time tonight. It'll be my lullaby.

Happy Endings - stars Lisa Kudrow, Steve Coogan, Tom Arnold, Laura Dern and also Maggie Gyllenhaal who is as brilliant as ever and it turns out she can sing too. I really liked this film, it's very funny in places, the whole cast were excellent, especially some of the actors i hadn't seen before, my only gripe was that is just went on a bit too long.

No, a little better than that and more comedy from Robert Downey, Jr. and Woody Harrelson 8)

I rented Sha Po Lang yesterday and watched it, and I have to say all the hype with that movie is completely justified: it's really amazing. Although some little flaws are there, like forcing a little bit the fact that everyone in the team had a personal drama(although donnie's little relationship with that guy he punched and left almost idiot is a great great touch),or some over-stylished scenes involving too flashy camera work, it's usually the good stuff that wins, and visually I liked it a lot. It had really powerfull scenes, the characters and acting were really good, the noir tone was well done, and of course, the fighting scenes are simply amazing.
So all in all, an excelent movie overall. It's like a mixture of a Johnie To thriller (reminded me a lot of PTU) and an 80's modern day martial arts movie.
By the way, is there an extended version or something? the version I saw had no other fight in the club than donnie against sammo, when I swear I saw shots of donnie fighting more guys in that same club, and in the little making of documentary is a 2 sec. or so part of donnie kicking some guys in the club. Where are those scenes?

Flight Plan - this movie is watchable because Jodie Foster is such a good actress but it has to be one of the worst plot devices ever, when it's finally revealed what is going on and why it's just complete rubbish. At first I thought I had worked out what was happening within about five minutes of the film starting and was really dissapointed, but then my theory was revealed about 45 minutes in so I knew that couldn't be it, so I was hoping for something brilliant and I couldn't have been more dissapointed.

My friend can't STAND Uma Thurman, but I talked her into seeing 'My Super Ex-Girlfriend' yesterday,
and she LOVED it. It is a fun flick.
