the way u say it, is like you're trying to dictate the way he should behave.  i've had parents telling me to stop talking like a black person when all i've said was "yo!" and "wuddup".  fuck dictatorship!

I always get told I talk like 'this and that' but it is genuinely (If i spelt it right) how I speak. Maybe it's my 'London' accent some people are not used to because it is mainly my cousins and friends who dont live in London that say I talk like 'this and that'

heehee. i'm just picking on the guy. i've never heard him speak english. but if other credible english speakers who have heard him speak say this...then there must be some truth to it.

This is the only time (I think) that I've heard him talk ALL english, which is why I understand why some people may think that.. Even though it doesn't sound extremely fake to me
The other times where he talks small amounts of english is not so bad either.

The prank is not particularly funny by the way. When it happened I thought "Is that it seriously?" I was only laughing a little when edison starts talking to him in the end.

i guess me like more ma-ture guys who enjoy speaking normal and use genuine, less-exaggerated hand gestures. as anita l. would say, i hate ghetto (is this ghetto? reminds me of kevin federline, britney's husband *shrug*). well, he is trying to woo and wow fans in your age range after all. i understand all that biz...

i don't like ghetto ppl, but i have no problem with ppl speaking ebonics. edison is really into hip hop that's why he speak like them. i, myself, sometime would throw in ebonics here and there for fun...i do think he's a poser by over doing it.

But I dont think he needs to talk English in a certain way to "woo and wow fans in my age range" because he is a HK/Chinese singer, which means 98% of the time he only needs to talk in Chinese, not english as he is based in Asia.
And his chinese is completely normal (But obviously maybe not with a fluent accent)

maybe while he was making his hollywood film and being around all those caucasians, their ghetto-ness rubbed off on him and he became what he is now. haha. i don't give a rat's ass how he talks...that's totally his biz.

Not all "young people" talk like that. He doesn't represent the young age. I'm not defending him because it's Edison Chen. I understand what you mean when you say you hate when people fake to be "ghetto" with all the hand gestures and weird language etc because I hate it myself, but it seems like you're labelling all youngsters just because he's young and talks like that.

well, well. if that's the way you understand it, it certainly was not my intent. i wouldn't be that foolish. if i wanted to say "all young people talk ghetto", i wouldn't have had any problem doing so.
