In order to use this new jet li website forum system you will need to be sure to activate your account. It's actually quite simple. Just do the following ..
1. click on "login" at the top of the page
2. login with your e-mail address (the one you used to sign up to jetli.com) as well as your jetli.com password.
3. fill out your profile (as completely as you wish -- but the more the better, imo).
Then you should be all activated and will be able to post in the forums.
But aside from the forums, you will probably want to know a bit more about this site. Here is a quick introduction of a few of the features of this new system so that you can find your way around ...
1. Across the very top of the page you'll see the alive not dead sitewide navigation bar. Here is a quick description of each button ..
- home: this takes you to the front page of alive not dead.
- artists: this shows you our list of featured artists. Jet, of course, you know, but you might want to check out some of the other people we have here. You can subscribe to their information feeds by clicking "become a fan" next to their picture and name. A lot of them blog quite a bit too, or have music and videos on their profile pages.
- my profile: this will take you to your profile page, as it appears to the general public.
- settings: this is where you can change things on your profile page. You can go there to post up a blog, add photos to your gallery, check your subscriptions or PMs, etc. Go crazy and give us what you got. I'd love to read some of your blogs / creative writings / etc.
- new entry: you can go there to add a blog or photo gallery.
- forums: that takes you to the room alive not dead forums. there is a forum for each of the featured artists but of course you're probably going to be searching for jet li's. if you're reading this, then you're already here.
- help: this takes you to the site FAQ.
- logout: this logs you out (duh).
If you don't see all those options, then you might not yet be logged in. You should be sure to do that. Use your email address and password (the ones you used on jetli.com before).
Of course, below the alive not dead navigation is the old familiar jet li navigation bar. You should be fairly familiar with that by now.
And then you can see the profile navigation for Jet's profile page below that. You can look at his "profile", read his "blog", see how his "fans" are or sign his "guestbook". and of course, visit his "forum".
Now, a few things to keep in mind with this new system ...
1. We don't have the same smilies that we had on the old forums so you might not see some of your favorites in the list. We'll see about adding them back in over the next week or month or so, but until then it will just come up as the bbcode for that smiley instead.
2. If you have any technical problems with logging in or issues related to stability with this forum or blogging system, please write a description of your problem in the "feedback / suggestions" forum and one of the helpful engineers at alive not dead will take care of it.
3. We're working out a few small bugs that came up with the conversion to the new system, so we appreciate your patience while we iron out the kinks. Hopefully it won't cause too many problems for you.
4. You should be a fan of Jet already and you will see him in your information feed (click on "settings" at the top of this page) but there are also a ton of other artists you can check out too. Just click on "artists
