Jet Li Explores Parental Love and Autistic Kids in Sea of Heaven

Press conference announcing production of 《海洋天堂》 Sea of Heaven/Ocean Paradise (tentative), to be filmed in Qingdao, was held in Beijing on August 26.
Sea of Heaven is Jet Li's first non-martial arts film and he was moved by the script which looks at true affections, true love through the perspective of ordinary people. "I was moved to tears when I first read the script, really, I hope to pay tribute to all parents through this film."
Jet Li was convinced by screenwriter Xue Xiao Lu, who conceived the project based on the actual experiences of Mdm Tian Hui Ping, who founded China's first professional autistic facility for kids, to star in her directorial debut.
Jet Li will play the role of a noble, loving father and would possibly be sporting white hair in this film which aims at letting the audience feel, within a mundane life, the giving of a little bit of love - a little act of benevolence - goes a long way towards making life so much better, and more fulfilling.
Wen Zhang plays Jet Li's adolescent autistic son while Guey Lun Mei a circus performer who gets acquainted with Jet Li and Wen Zhang at the Ocean Park when she's performing there. Chen Rui plays a caring female teacher at an autistic school.

With earth facing a major potential crisis as a result of climate change, which sees Articice cap receding at an ever alarmingly accelerated rate and could be gone by end of 2012, with huge storehouse of toxic gases trapped beneath awaiting to be released, the government, scientists and luminaries around the world are starting to respond and take actions.

Recently, Jet Li, together with Tony Blair, introduced solar-powered LED road lighting system in Guiyang, China, in a bid to reduce carbon emissions.
However, it takes time to research, develop and implement renewable energy feasibly on a wide scale level. As green technology gets implemented, we should also be looking into other means of going green.
And switching tovegetarian/vegan diet is the fastest, easiest and most effective way that we, as an individual, could do to reduce greenhouse gases. Meat industry accounts for not just 1/5 but more than 1/2 of the greenhouse gas emissions produced by human related activities.
Vegan diet is not only environmentally friendly, but is also healthier, almost karmaless and nips factory farming induced diseases like H1N5 in the bud, apart from alleviating the sufferings and killings of the animals, who are here to help, bless us. Start by having vegan dietonce a week, and gradually reduce meat intake from there. The positive and harmonious atmosphere created by ahimsa will in some mysterious way counter global warming.
Christopher Doyle and Yee Chung Man will be lending their expertise in cinematography and art design respectively. Sea of Heaven is slated for spring 2010 release.
