Donnie Yen to retire from acting?
Say it isn't so
, Sounds like he may continue to direct the action though

So it seems. But if he is offered great roles and his body holds up who knows how long he will remain on the screen instead of behind the scenes. Too bad. I was just starting to really like him. I know. I know. He was always a great fighter. I just didn`t like `him` - he rubbed me the wrong way. Now that I`m liking him -- he talks of retirement. It`s all about me.

He just wants to be like Joaquin Phoenix.
Next he'll be on Letterman with an awful beard.

Maybe he's just trying to follow Brett Favre. Retire, return, retire, return, ad nauseum.

With a thread title like that, I'm sure somebody in the know will be
swooping
in!

Sure, he'll give up acting and Fearless was Jet Li's last Martial Art film. I'll believe it when I see it.

Fearless was kind of the last film that Jet Li gave a shit about it. The well has seriously dried up since then. @_@

I think Warlords was the first JET film since LW4 that I didn't get to see on the big screen, but I still liked it.

Donnie Yen's problem with the shoulder was never cured because he didn't want an operation, needing a massage after each action, which took him big effort and caused pain. And he also sustained wounds over time from doing action. At least he's still passionate about filmmaking - moving behind the camera.
But four years, that's a good timing...

That's probably why it's the last dvd that I've added to my Jet Li collection.

Fearless was the last movie that Jet put
everything
he had into the making, producing, script development, philosophy of wushu, etc.
Warlords -- he was just a wonderful actor refining his dramatic skills (and very well done, too!). Think back to when JET was blogging his own blogs (mostly) while filming Warlords on jetli.com. I believe he said something to the effect that actors were like puppets for a director.
I ordered my copy of Warlords on line so I can watch it (legally) as often as I like!

Sorry, you two honorable ladies, but I've got a house built in 1913, and for the past year it has taken most of my resourses to have the house brought into the 21st century. It's still an ongoing process, with expensive things like new roof and carpeting yet to come.
Anyway, I don't remember male members in the past who have talked about downloading movies for free getting any snide remarks, and all I did was watch Warlords on youtube.
