Musical tastes and personality type are closely related, according to a study of more than 36,000 people from around the world.
The research, which was carried out by Professor Adrian NorthofHeriot-Watt University, is said to be the largest such studyeverundertaken.
It suggested classical music fans were shy, while heavy metal aficionados were gentle and at ease with themselves.
Professor North described the research as "significant" and "surprising".

The list doesn't seem accurate at all...how is a genre of music supposed to tell if someone is hard-working?  And people don't only listen to one type of music so...hard to define tastes and even harder to relate personality to taste in music

I don't know, that kind of research is kind of like saying Apples make Apple juice.  IT's kind of hard to distinguish where conditioning ends and where individuality begins within ourselves and the music we listen too..  Good topic though....food for thought.

But enjoying indie music doesn't really mean you got a low self-esteem though, that's kind of an insult.
