MAL, please accept my sympathy. I would have been here sooner, but my Netscape server was out of commission. I guess I don't need to repeat any of the things that anyone else has said. But again, I'm so sorry.
Karasu, don't fret the Target diss. Really. They were a great place, once, but with the economy so crap, they have gotten to be about their bottom line. It's not the same place as when I started. And I'm glad to be gone.
And about Hayden, I liked him in the role. Really I did. But to go back and replace the original image with him, was too much. And I agree with Kevin Smith (but then, I would.) Of course the galaxy's worst bad guy would start as a whiny teenager. It makes perfect sense.
As for what's irritating me today, well, I just got internet service back today. My parents and I were both out of service since Friday morning. Un-freakin'-believable! I called customer service (in India. That wasn't the problem. Some language bumps, but not a horrible experience) and everytime I talked to them, it was something else. But not their fault. And yet, it was. But they have gotten me to move on the DSL that has just come into my neighborhood. YouTube here I come!!
And may I say: Man, I have missed you guys!

Oh yeah, and said ex-b/f sent me an e-card for my birthday. Let it die. I have.

Yeah, that's a real world problem, Kai.

My oldest son recently took the CFO position with a different company, so instead of dressing nice casual, he's now back to dress shirt and tie, but suit jackets are optional.

I'm annoyed today because the Obama's plan on adopting a Goldendoodle from an animal shelter, and I want one!  *stamps foot*

Yeah...but now that she knows, she'll be on the look-out for any of those Russians using Africa to sneak into Alaska a/k/a USA to attack us!

By and by....Palin wouldn't harm that little puppy...especially since it can be used as bait for trapping bear!

One staffer said the Palins were like "the hillbillies from Alaska shopping at Nieman-Marcuses across the country."  That she had spent tens of thousands of dollars more than the $150,000 that was first reported... $30 or $40 thousand on her husband, and about the same amount on her kids.  The girls were wearing Gucci shoes.  Gov. Palin was only asked to buy herself 3 suits.

If Senator Ted Lewis is given jail time, he will have to resign from the Senate.  Gov. Palin can appoint someone to replace him, but not herself.  However, she can resign as Govenor,  then the Lt. Governor would take her job, and he can then appoint her to fill Lewis Senate seat.  With all those new duds, she's not going to be happy in Wasilla or Ancorage.

hahah, i read that on newsweek:

That's not the full extent of the shopping spree.  A Republican contributor volunteered (legally?) to finance part of the initial wardrobe...he was expecting 10-15,000.  He then got the bill and was PO'd.

Here's another one.  The McCain staffers defended their keeping her under wraps.  Well I could see why.  When two high level McCain guys, Schmidt and Salter, in a towel covering her body and her head, fresh from a shower saying "I'll be there in a minute" and to talk to the first dude.  It's gonna be in a Newsweek article.

That woman has the brains and protocol instincts of a, of a, .... I don't know who I would want to insult by making a comparison....ok, white trash.  There you go.  I may lose the white trash vote now but I'll risk it.

If you heard her being punked by the Montreal radio team you had to feel sorry for her a bit, but now it comes out that she did NOT clear that phone call from "Sarkozy", the French PM, with the McCain muketymucks.  She put it on her schedule and her aides said it was the McCain people's fault that they didn't see it.   Totally inappropriate not to clear that kind of phone call, from a head of state, with your boss.  Think about it.  Protocol.  And then she STUPIDLY played along for over six minutes, sounded like an idiot, until those guys ran out of material.

Palin got progressively frigging rogue as the campaign continued because she was getting pumped up by the adoring throngs of people attending her rallies.  She was thinking that the far right's acceptance and love for her were universal and the small folks related to her.  But the small, medium and large folks voted with their feet right over to Obama.  When I canvassed for Obama last weekend about 20% of Obama supporters said that they had been thinking of voting for McCain but Palin was the deal killer.  They were horrified at that choice.

The Republicans need the middle because they cannot win with just far right.  Won't happen.  And now, in the post-mortem phase, they're not blaming Palin as much as saying she was an embarrassment and a net drag on the ticket.

The Reps really seem to like Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.  And aren't there competent., intelligent, proper Republican women out there?  I keep hearing how liberals are "scared" of Palin, her honesty, her earthiness.  They really don't get it.

Oh yeah, one more thing.  Protocol be damned again.  She came with a speech to make before McCain's concession speech!  The McCain people said no way.  I've read that after McCain spoke she actually moved toward the podium?  I didn't see the TV coverage.  Anyone see that happen?

McCain screwed up.  Bad, bad choice.  It's too bad because even though it looks like an electoral landslide, who knows what could have been?

I heard an analyst saying that the Republicans need to really re-examine their platform. I don't think it's been done since the 70's. This is a wake-up call, and they need to drag themselves into the 21st century. BUt their base just kept getting smaller, and no one seemed to notice.
But, wait . . . .This was supposed to be my birthday present: all of this politcal yammering was s'posed to go away. They're off TV, now if they'll just go further away. . .

Baha what a frigging dunderhead!!! That is so hilarious!!!I I wonder how many continents she thinks there is and what they are? I guess we'll never know now...and it's a shame I wanted to laugh at her stupidity...I could understand if Bush didn't know, he's just pathetic...but her? I had no idea she was that dumb!!!

That fact that she was is and will still be an idiot.     I was in the minority that saw that this broad  was not even worth the time to be selected for vp.  I am angry with fox news cable channel, how quickly they turned on everyone in the mccain camp.  Shame on them.

Granted this is an outsiders opinion on Palin but here it goes.

The problem with putting Palin up as VP isn't so much that Palin is a bit of a dumb ass as much as she kind of represents everything that the rest of the world hates about America. She's a walking clique. Ex beauty queen, gun totting soccar mum who doesn't know anything real about anywhere outside her home country.

I personaly think that Americans are smarter than that and are very aware of the stereo type. The idea of having a stereotype as VP of the country realy wouldn't sit well in the minds of current America.

If Palin wants to go in for 2012 (which is what is going to happen if you believe the whispers) then she's going to need to go through a major revamp of her image.

btw, take a listen to the new song at www.myspace.com/lonelylowercasen

So far, there's nothing but a big blank white screen when I try to go to AnD's home page.
