1  what is the diference between "to be fan of artist " and "to promote artist". the latter has any advatage?

2 how to switch "status online" and "status offline" under one's profile pic in the forum?
  somebody asked that "online" did not change to "offline" after she logged out.

To be a fan of an artist, is to receive feeds of their blogs and photo albums. That means that when the artist adds a new blog or photo album, you will know. To promote the artist is to invite your friends on other networks to check out their profile (I think, I haven't done it *waits for the wrath of the administrators*).

If another network I'm on is anything to go by, the online-offline status depends on how long ago you were last active. If you haven't done anything on the website for about half an hour, you're considered offline, even if you're still logged in, and until that timeframe passes, you're still considered online, even if you've logged out. But that's just my take on it. I could be totally wrong.
