Hear them sayin'
How you get a rude and a reckless?
Don't you be so crude and a feckless
You been drinking brew for breakfast
Rudie can't fail

So we reply
I know that my life make you nervous
But I tell you that I can't live in service
Like the doctor who was born for a purpose***
Rudie can't fail

I WENT TO THE MARKET TO REALISE MY SOUL
'CAUSE WHAT I NEED I JUST DON'T HAVE
FIRST THEY CURSE, THEN THEY PRESS ME TILL I HURT
WE SAY RUDIE CAN'T FAIL

I only quoted the first part cuz it was long. Who wrote it GT? It's a powerful song.

Our website is coming unraveled because of the bitter popularity contest/rivalry between Etchy, Patrick and now Stephen!  Oh, woe is me!

Ya know I was thinking about my last post & realized I don't want to come across as too serious about the first sentence. Those of us who post here regularly know each other's styles. I know you have tremendous respect for other cultures, and that the joke was in the context of the bigger joke that's going on with the 'popularity' contest Patrick & Etchy have been playing with & joking about.

I guess what gave me pause was thinking of those who are simply passing thru & might take the phrase out of context. That's something that's always in the back of my mind cuz I'm tuned in to the fact it's a public website & lots of folks just pass thru. Aargh. Why am I going on & on.

I didn't want to leave that hanging cuz I know you didn't mean anything negative by it, Palie o'mine.

Ha that was our Dad's nickname for the 4 of us, a mini version of pal; we were all  palies. When things were going good, anyway. When they weren't he called us lots of other things on a more individual basis hahah.

That's what I'm wondering.

I have no idea what you gals are talking about, and when I read JRS comment, I didn't think a thing of it, and I doubt anybody else will either.

JRS can speak for herself but I think she just watched Curse of the Golden Flower and used an old Chinese saying used to describe the movie's plot.  The emperor and his clan fighting.  The guys of AnD having a fake feud.  Just a joke.  Maybe a little "inside" for passers by but nothing that should make you :[  IMO.

I didn't know the line came from a film, or what it had to do with my comments about the Chinese New Year & enjoying the multi-cultural aspect of the site, so basically I just didn't get it. Sorry about that JRS, it was a case of crossed wires.

And Flagday wins a BRAND NEW CAAARRR!!!!

*audience cheering wildly*

*IRS cheering wildly for getting an opportunity to slam Flagday with higher taxes on her winnings*

Well, call me JRS-come-lately, but I've been busy today and didn't have time to sign on until a little bit ago.  My entry was totally meant to contain ample amount of jest (hence the silly little razz emoticon).  I had just visited Stephen's blog before coming on to the board for a last looksy-round before calling it a night.

Hey, it's a week before Valentine's Day....I only have love in my heart for everyone!

That I don't have to go out for anything on this sub-freezing windy day.   It is exceptionally gray and gloomy looking outside.

I think I'll make a dessert to go with the spaghetti and Italian meatballs I'm making for later.  Tapioca pudding sounds good... with a maraschino cherry on top.

What's making me happy is knowing the plans I've had in my mind for making some big changes are coming together. Some of my family members are coming down to move stuff in my house that needs to be moved. Ya know, when they're not annoying the hell out of me they're a damn fine group of people now that I think of it. It's good to know I have their support in making this move. : )

I exercised, went on an open house at the oldest house in town going up for auction, interesting and fun; went to the Farmer's Market and picked up all kinds of great vegies; got dehydrated veges at the nut stand which are so yummy, it's like having chips; went to see a fabulous movie; had a great dinner at a new Mexican restaurant and had Patron Silver, asked for a shot, got a snifter.  Tomorrow I won't be as happy because I'll have to work off this dinner....oh, but I know I already lost 4-1/2 pounds!!!   I'm pretty happy tonight.  And I picked up "Across the Universe" because I love The Beatles even as elevator music.

I finally got 100 - 40lb bags of quick-crete moved!!

This morning several of us from my martial arts school did a couple demos at the local high school - that was fun! It was a Language Arts fair, kids from around the state were there.

Those guys are so dedicated to leave their temple and come out to visit us, it really is very humbling what they can do, and the thing is we really have no idea of their true abilities. It shows just what the human body can do when properly trained and diciplined. I had nothing to give them in return, but I'm trying to think of the right thing. What do you think it should be?

was the show free?

I don't have a berry parfait, but I do have some blue Jello which is berry flavored.  I added some banana slices to liven it up a bit, and I like a dollop of Cool Whip on top.
