Shoveling 8 inches of snow off of the huge drive-way this morning.  (and I'm not kidding!  there's something to be said about doing work in the cold with a blanket of white surrounding you and with only the sound of wind and winter as company.  then again, you all knew I was crazy as a loon to begin with!  )

Bad mommie, Rox.   j/k

And what a great weekend for Emma.

Night,,we got nowhere near 8 inches (you poor baby), but I did have to make a dash to the nearby Walmart for supplies last evening due to the weather forecast.  It wasn't suppose to start snowing until midnight, but it was coming down pretty dang heavy by 8:30 when I was on my way home.  By morning what show that had fallen (maybe 2 inches) was topped off with about an inch of ice.

So what made me happy today was that a friend picked me up to go and vote.  We have to vote at the new Eagles (F.O.E.) about a mile out of town on country roads.  But we made it.

Yeah, SUNSHINE.   It's melting some of the ice from the storm we had night before last.

My entire village lost power for about 30 minutes at 10:30 last night.  It was eerie with no street lights, etc.  And so slippery out that none of the neighbors were walking around talking about the outage.  I was watching TV at the time, so I just lit a candle and sat there wondering how long it would take for me to turn into a block of ice.

And you couldn't even use the internet to check how long it would take to freeze, either.

j/k

Glad the outage didn't last that long. My house gets cold quick when there's a winter outage.

Some wild winds came thru here, with scattered areas of rain, but cripes the wind! It was in the paper today that a tree fell over on a 80 yr old woman's trailer & just missed where she was sleeping. was incredible. Here's a pic. Holy Macanolly imagine being asleep & having that happen. She wasn't hurt at all. Strange, huh.

I am very very happy to report that I'm no longer a team leader at Tar-zhey. I still work there, but after Saturday, I'm back to being just another flunky, and glad of it. The "Barbie' that is my exec, fired a heavy-duty shot across my bow, Tuesday. After I got done 'mother f***ing' her, and I slept on it, the only reasonable course of action was to demote myself. And lo! the weight lifted from my shoulders. I'm going back to part-time, and am looking for something else.
I applied at my local humane society, to be a kennel assistant. I can feed doggies and kitties, and clean up poop. I do that, for this freakin' herd, now, for free. I also had a good conversation with the nice girl at the GNC franchise, and I may be able to get on with them, part-time. I also got my resume into the hands of a co-worker, whose husband works in the computer industry, in Pittsburgh. He's also part of the local computer industry consortium, a kind of industry network, I guess. There's a decent chance that I might be able to get on with them. That'd be good $$$, but I'd have to drive into the 'Burgh. Not horrible, but not a great idea, either.
Point is, the tension at work is gone, and I'm looking at options. I told my store manager, that I'd rather have a half of a job, than no job, at all. And had I not done this, it'd been no time at all,  until me and the gang were living under a bridge somewhere.

Thank goodness it's Friday. I look forward to spending some quality time with my bed and taking frequent trips to slumberland. I'm yawning just thinking about it. Can't wait.

The rotten bastards that are the district execs put the kaibosh on me stepping down. But I'm still pulling for another job. The situation is fast becoming untenable, and I long for the day, when I get to say that it's my last, there.
I'm rooting for the kennel job, as well. Other folks say the same thing: that it would be perfect for me. Anything is better than the big 'red & white.'

On another note, if anyone is interested in looking at a sort of corporate report card, on any number of big companies, like Sears, or WalMart, or whoever, check this out:

http://www.coopamerica.org/programs/rs/

It's a real eye opener.

Well, I wanted to bump this thread up to the top of the heap again....more of an F.Y.I.

AJ-jetli had a birthday on March 11th.....so, if you're inclined to do so, stop by his profile page and wish him a happy belated birthday.  He's not on our Birthday thread (probably because he's so humble) but he should not be forgotten.
