Daylight Savings Time

In the States, we're currently on Daylight Savings Time so the adjusted times on the Update Feeds (for example) are not accurate. For example, it says that DW logged-on at 7:17 a.m. when the actual time (on the west coast) is 8:17 a.m.

Hmm, did you manually set your time zone in the forum options? If so, try setting this to default.

Currently, the forum options timezone doesn't support the notion of DST, so all it does is add/substract the number of hours specified.

When you set it to default, it gets your timeoffset from the browser so all that matters is that your computer clock is set correctly.

DST is such a pain...

I did use the default PST time zone.
Guess it's just the DST.
You couldn't use your special programming magic to add the extra hour and, later in the Fall, remove the extra hour and all that?

Hi Peachey,

you want to set the time zone to "default" NOT to PST. PST is Pacific STANDARD time, whereas what you want is Pacific Daylight time.

The rules for DST are a pain because it's not consistent. Not everyone uses it (obviously) and not everywhere in the same timezone even uses it (e.g., arizona). Even the rules of when daylight saving occurs changed this year with the new Energy Bill.
Using the "default" time setting (again, NOT PST) fixes that because it puts the burden on your browser (and thus your computer's OS) to figure out the whole mess.
