my high school is in the national news...again...

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/01062007/3/canada-father-charged-van-slams-teens-including-daughter.html

i wonder if i should visit my old teachers at Leacock and see if they're okay.
i still don't like their vice-principal, Santo Amenta and in case you're wondering, yes...Mike Myers (Mr. Austin Powers himself) is also a fellow alumni of that same school.

you should seen it on the tv news.
this guy was practically dancing when he was getting arrested.
what's even more fucked up is, the boyfriend in question is the same kid who got his house firebombed a few months ago.

and in other news, another kid got murdered in pacific mall on the same week.  7 teenagers (of caucasian, black and asian descent) were caught on video as they were leaving the premises.  2 of them had handguns.  they're all prime suspects of the murder.

i can pretty much say that i can no longer feel too safe in Toronto.

It's okay Tin Tin. When I was in DC two years ago, a grown man was raped, a grandma was beaten at the hospital, and some deranged bus driver left a bus full of second graders on the side of the street (actually this happend like 3 times during the 2 1/2 month I was in DC). It's a dangerous world out there. Probably not going to be too safe anywhere you go.

it's not an everyday thing to hear shit like that happen in places you normally go.
i remember just about half a year ago, a man got stabbed outside of a bubble tea shop at Metro Square (which is not too far from Pacific Mall).  he's just lying on the ground, sleepin' on the floor...dead.

back in the days, these things don't happen too often but it seems like it's happening more frequently in the toronto area lately.  the jane and finch area is far from safe too.  alot of gangsters around there.

A 7 year old boy was sexually assaulted today by a 20-30 year old man, about 200 lbs, with a naked lady tattooed on his arm.

Tin Tin, Musicnote...we live in a dangerous world.

oooh, that reminds me of when i was in high school. there was a strike almost every year of my high school experience. the teachers went on strike every other year, and the years they didn't go on strike, the janitors went on strike...

it was a nice break from school, but it also sucked b/c when the gov't forced the teachers back into the classrooms to teach, they went on work-to-rule, cutting all our extra-curricular activities (sports teams, dances, etc.).

we had a few janitor strikes at leacock.  the school was like a dump and we were still forced to go to school.  it wasn't until it got way too dirty that we were told not to go.  i mean, people tossed eggs around.

same thing happened at my school. some stupid kids were making it worse by knocking garbage cans over in the halls and making the washrooms so dirty no one could use them, in hopes that classes would get cancelled.

but school strikes can't really be compared to an attempted murder in school.  politics and crime should be separated as two different subject matter.
