Also, why won't colors work? I like colors, but they don't show up in the actual post.

Kit, the colors work....when you're replying to a thread using Discuz! Code, there's a bunch of Microsoft-like Word symbols at the top.  In the middle there's Font, Size, and then the letter "A" that's in italics and underlined.  Click on this and there's a drop-down menu of colors.

Highlight what you want to be in color, just like the old forum, click on the "A" and select your color.
