Good to know that Dragonshen is also onto the news of this upcoming project. Has the movie been completed yet?? As mentioned before, we don't get many movies from Hongkong in mandarin or cantonese dialogue here in Australia. Exceptions were Fearless, Curse of the Golden Flower, House of Flying Daggers and Crouching Tiger & Hidden Dragon. These movies have very good turnout at the theatres here(popular with both Asian and Australian). If western audiences are really intrigued with our arts, they'll still watch the movie because they know it's English sub-titled for their benefit and enjoyment. We've come a long way since dubbing and I'm certain many fans out there agree with me.
Although also a fan of Jackie, his western collaboration, the latest being Forbidden Kingdom, is a disappointment to me (I've given my feedback on his website). In order to really showcase our chinese martial arts or story for that matter, it has to be in our cantonese/mandarin dialogue. So I hope this upcoming movie will sustain the high level of quality of his showmanship of martial arts which I've come to expect of Sifu Lau Kar Leung's movies.
By the way Gordon, do you remember the old movie you made entitled Young Beggar Su (Siu Lin So Hak Yi) which you costarred with Wang Yu (love the football scenes, so original and hilarious). Please give us Part 2 to that story as you can portray a more matured Beggar Su. That movie left us wondering what happened to the unselfish So Chan (who sent his step-brother on a date with his girlfriend Ting Ting) and who later lost his family, his girlfriend and step-brother. I know you're physically capable of showcasing your skills even now . Let us see the matured Master at work. Previous old movies of Beggar Su were portrayed by Yuen Siu Tin depicting the character in a more comedic role (don't find them any special). Get together with Sifu Lau Kar Leung and make a Part 2 to your original story, please!!! Go, go, go!!
