My very own DC X SE Racing Fixed Gear Bike!

As I always say, most of the time it sucks to be me, but sometimes, only sometimes – it’s REALLY GOOD.

Today is one of those times.

Thanks to DC, I am now the proud owner of the ONLY DC X SE Racing PK Ripper fixed gear bike in Malaysia.

I’ll show you more photos once I’ve had the bike assembled!

Daiya Does Penang - Aug 2009

One of my best friends, Daiya Kobayashi was in town last week to meet up with me to talk about all the new London Diamond Gallery stuff we are working on. Daiya is actually the owner of LDG and is responsible for their new aggressive expansion plan across Asia. We’re knee deep in the process of planning what the company is going to be doing for the next 24-36 months and you know what? It’s all good.

While he was here, he decided that he needed a haircut so I took him down to Exposure, which is one of the best hair salons in Penang. My good drinking buddy Jamen is the owner and he took care of Daiya’s hair that day.

After working/planning/scheming all day (with Jun aswell, of course), we decided to go out and have a couple of drinks so Jamen suggested that we go to the newly renovated Mois at Upper Penang Road. I didn’t really mind as I have kinda become indifferent to the shitty music that is played in all Penang clubs.

BTW, being one of Penang’s most famous hairstylists has it’s perks – you’re ALWAYS surrounded by women:

After a couple of hours, I asked Daiya what he thought of the music at Mois, and this was his reply to me:

(and no, please don’t ask me why he’s wearing Jamen’s glasses upside down)

Diamonds are Daiya’s family business but music has always been his passion and he is without a doubt one of the best DJs that I have ever heard.

During this trip he passed me one of his new live mixes which was absolutely incredible. Every time I hear one of Daiya’s mixes I get that same sense of awe and wonderment as I did when I first discovered dance music so many years ago.

I’m gonna have to try and think of a way to entice him away from his multi-million dollar bling empire for a little while to come and perform at one of our parties … hmm …
