12/21/08

I took this pictures at my brother's house on Sunday. It was really icy in the morning, everything had a coating of ice on it. The branches on the trees and bushes were hanging low.
The result? Breathtaking views everywhere!

Of course, I didn't have my camera, I left it at my brothers the week before! This was just one of three perfect days last week to explore and experiment with my camera in nature during winter!

(Yes it does snow, and gets icy where I live in eastern Pa.; but usually its freezing, ugly, messy, treacherous, and dangerous. So the last thing on your mind is photography.)

Anyway, when I finally got to my brother's there wasn't much left, but I wanted to take some pictures anyway. I was pleasantly surprised at how some of them turn out. The photos of the flowers with the sun's brightness around them really looked cool to me.

These are my favorite ones. I hope you enjoy them!!

I love all types of artistic expression. I particularly am drawn to areas that I myself don't feel I have much natural talent in. I enjoy drawing, but am not very good at it, sometime I'll upload some of my work and you'll see :-)

Anyway, I was looking at peoples albums and saw an illustration I really liked, and I was inspired, thanks Reni . I want to post art of all forms that I personally like which was created by artists (by that I don't mean just "official") from AnD site in this album. I will add stuff as I find it and of course after I get permission from artists. I figure, though I can't draw very well personally, I can express myself by showing others work that I admire!

Maybe people will find something they like and be able to check out the artists site, learn more about them and meet other people through this!

So please look around, leave comments if you like something so I can forward it to the artist; then go check out their site!

As this album continues to grow each day I would like to take this opportunity to thank both the artists for allowing me to post their work in this album and the members who are taking the time to stop and look at the pictures.
Through this I have been introduced to so many new artists and members that it makes my heart happy. My idea for this seems to be working and without all of you it wouldn't be possible.
So I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you and..... Lets keep it going!!!

I was born and raised in the Northeastern part of the U.S. and moved around a lot as a child, I went to six different schools in 12 years. One of the things that helped me deal with constantly being the "new kid" was being creative. I have always loved to write, take pictures, draw, and in general be creative.
After high school I tried college but it just didn't work for me. I preferred to learn things "hands on". I also love meeting new people and experiencing new challenges. So I went to work and have been working in retail for over 22 years now. I have two beautiful and sweet daughters, ages 14 and 10, who are my reason for living.
Several years ago I became a massage therapist and after working primarily with people with debilitating/chronic pain issues and injured athletes, I wanted to further my education to specialize in this field. However, a serious neck injury has halted that, ironic huh? I still do it, but because of my injury I can't do it full-time, possibly ever again.
The one thing consistent, through all life's ups and downs, has been my creative expression. I guess you could say that, aside from my children of course; expressing myself through writing, photography, and art in general, are my passions. I consider myself to be an amateur in these areas, but talented none the less.
So now that my children are older and not requiring my attention 100% of the time, (as any of you with children know.....its now 200% hehe), my goal is to pursue a career in writing and possibly photography. So I've been reading, researching, learning about different styles/formats, and in general soaking up as much knowledge I can in all areas of the creative arts; and loving every minute of it!
I also wanted to start sharing my art with others. I don't know how others feel, but for me its scary as heck to share my soul with others. When I saw this site, I immediately felt a sense of peace, everyone seems so genuine and sincere, and creative expression is not only allowed, its encouraged.
So here goes nothing.............
