Hi Colleen, I would say if you love mountains and water, Vancouver is def the place for you =)  Are you into skiing?  A lot of people like to come to Vancouver because Whistler is only a 1.5 hour drive away.  Whistler is supposed to be one the best skiing places.  I don't ski myself so I don't know how good that is but my friends from elsewhere that come here, they always head up to Whistler to ski.  The taxes in Vancouver are pretty steep, it's currently at 12%, I believe Toronto is at 13% and Calgary is at 5%.  It's pretty expensive to live in Vancouver but I think once you get here, you just sort of adjust.  Food is not expensive it's mainly the housing.  But that has gone down a bit recently.  Two years back because we're having Olympics 2010 here, we were experiencing a huge raise in buying houses and even rentals but now everything seems to have gone down, which is nice.  But in terms of housing being more affordable, people have said that Calgary and Toronto are a bit more affordable.  The reason I'm not listing the other places in Canada as much is because I haven't been there so I can't really say if they are nice places to live or not.

I visited Montreal many many years back and that was an awesome place to visit, however, their main language there is French.  And I also heard it's quite expensive there.

In terms of snow, we got a bit of a snowstorm this year and our city finally realized they weren't as equipped as they thought they were so I think we're trying to get more snowmobiles.  In Calgary and Toronto and many other Canadian cities that have more snow, I heard they are very well equipped so the people that live there don't freak out (like Vancouverites do) because the roads are pretty safe for driving.  I think since I live here, I would definitely recommend Vancouver because it's so beautiful.  =)

Thanks for stopping by to say hi =) And yes, Reni is awesome, I was very happy with the drawing, but then, I'm happy about all his drawings, which are always very nice =D

Being from Canada, I really like it. I'm from Vancouver and people from the West Coast are a bit more laidback. I think everyone here takes things rather slowly. Vancouver is the most expensive place in Canada to live but it's also one of the most beautiful. I really love it here. There's also Toronto, which has more highways and is less city like but jobs there seem to be more abundant. I also have family from Calgary, that city is quiet and peaceful, but not as scenic as Vancouver but they have less tax. Did you have a particular city that you were thinking of moving to?

hahaaaa thanks!! 2500 is great! I mean I just can't be bothered to click so many times to delete the 10000 mails where hotmail's offering so much space for it, 10000 mail was only taking 20% space hahaa I'm gonna delete them all in one click while it reaches maybe 80% space, that should be 30000 mails, I think the hotmail server should be able to cope with that lol

I was born and raised in the Northeastern part of the U.S. and moved around a lot as a child, I went to six different schools in 12 years. One of the things that helped me deal with constantly being the "new kid" was being creative. I have always loved to write, take pictures, draw, and in general be creative.
After high school I tried college but it just didn't work for me. I preferred to learn things "hands on". I also love meeting new people and experiencing new challenges. So I went to work and have been working in retail for over 22 years now. I have two beautiful and sweet daughters, ages 14 and 10, who are my reason for living.
Several years ago I became a massage therapist and after working primarily with people with debilitating/chronic pain issues and injured athletes, I wanted to further my education to specialize in this field. However, a serious neck injury has halted that, ironic huh? I still do it, but because of my injury I can't do it full-time, possibly ever again.
The one thing consistent, through all life's ups and downs, has been my creative expression. I guess you could say that, aside from my children of course; expressing myself through writing, photography, and art in general, are my passions. I consider myself to be an amateur in these areas, but talented none the less.
So now that my children are older and not requiring my attention 100% of the time, (as any of you with children know.....its now 200% hehe), my goal is to pursue a career in writing and possibly photography. So I've been reading, researching, learning about different styles/formats, and in general soaking up as much knowledge I can in all areas of the creative arts; and loving every minute of it!
I also wanted to start sharing my art with others. I don't know how others feel, but for me its scary as heck to share my soul with others. When I saw this site, I immediately felt a sense of peace, everyone seems so genuine and sincere, and creative expression is not only allowed, its encouraged.
So here goes nothing.............
