No, he didn't die or something, but to return to Japan after 7 long years. One of his dream was to actually retire in Malaysia, but it seems that didn't come true to him. Nevertheless, he enjoyed staying in Malaysia for the past 7 years. He especially enjoyed the food as can be seen in his
food blog (a rather popular one among the Japanese) and not to forget the ladies too. Well, that's what he told me. I believed it 100%. Hahaa..
We had a farewell for him in Oct 7 (yea, this post is rather late) and it was the best farewell party I have ever been to during my working life here. Thanks to the committee members, the farewell dinner was actually a blast. Speeches as usual but the best part was when the video show where all the Pan Asia managers wishing him luck in his future undertakings shown that he was very well respected in the Pan Asia region. That was just simply awesome.

The man looking back at himself. We had a small welcome gift, a note clipper, where the man's face was put up and some quotes he given out before. And then, they dressed him up in the Malay traditional costume, the Baju Melayu and suddenly, he looked like a grandpa having his birthday party. Hahaa...
I got him a farewell gift. Why did I look happier than the person receiving the present? Maybe it's really true, giving is better than receiving. As I know he loves food so much, I got him a cookbook. A cookbook specializing in Chinese soup, which I think rather fits him as he likes to cook too. And not forgetting.....
BAH KUT TEH (肉骨茶) ingredients....a must love item by all Japanese members in my company. There's just something about Bah Kut Teh and Japanese. They all love it. Too bad that the recipe book did not have a Bah Kut Teh recipe, which was why I got him the ingredients. And plus it came with Japanese recipe on the wrapping which was a plus point. Most of you might say well, it's bound to be wasted because he most probably will chuck it away. But WRONGGgg...he
actually cooked it and posted it in his blog. I say he's a darn good cook. The outcome was actually believable. Haha..I hope he tried out all the recipe in the book.
He said he might come back to Malaysia when he retire in 7 years via the
Malaysia 2nd Home program. It's cheaper to retire in Malaysia than in Japan. Cheaper food, cheaper golf, nicer weather, what is there not to like about Malaysia. Politics (but he doesn't need to care about it anyway). So, I will see you in 7 years (hopefully).
p.s. Thanks to Wan for the fabulous pictures.
