I am an aspiring screenplay writer and novelist. I am also re-establishing my music career, currently working with guitarist Antony McMullen (ex Upstairs) and anyone else we can rope into playing with us as well as being the musical director of the Barry Pang Kung Fu School Lion Dance team.
I have had many career paths. I’ve been a dancer, singer, bass player, sound engineer, café counter hand, pizza delivery driver, professional student, telemarketer and sales consultant. With such a divers work history writing was the most logical career I could choose.
My first foray into writing professionally came by accident at the tender age of 20 when I wrote my first short comedy skit ‘Super Jeff' as part of the ensemble production ‘Life in a Wedgie, Wish You Where Here.’ It was not at all my best work but I finally had the chance to feel the excitement of having something that I created performed and enjoyed by people other than family and friends. This was a turning point for me. I started carrying around a note book and jotting down everything I saw and felt.
At 22 I started a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English Literature and Cinema at La Trobe University and went on to study at Melbourne University where I picked up Mandarin and Chinese History.
My style is hard to pin point. I have dabbled as a lyricist and poet. I have written more short stories than I can count and have made screenplays my focus for the last 6 years, both short films and features. I have written comedy, romance, drama, art house, history/period and a style I like to call, “experimental”. Want to know more about me visit me at http://www.myspace.com/aussielung
