  • The Spa, AUGUSTIN's WAFFLES and... Weekend Already?

July 1st was a holiday in Hong Kong. We went to Shenzhen after work and went to Queen's Spa and Dining Resort, where we enjoyed 4 hours of reflexology and aromatherapy massage. Has anyone else gone to this place? We then stayed the night there. In the morning, we went for dim sum before returning to Hong Kong. It felt like a WEEKEND in the middle of the week.

The entrance leading to the main foyer of the spa/ resort...

Can you guess where this is (photo below)? I felt like I was somewhere on the West coast (North America)... But I was actually in Shenzhen, on my way back to Hong Kong! The beautiful weather in this photo easily throws one off...

For those of you who've frequented Hong Kong, I'm sure you've ran into CITYSUPER (supermarket) at Times Square... Well, have you seen the AUGUSTIN'S WAFFLES booth? The mouthwatering aroma of Belgian waffles brought me to this little booth situated inside CITYSUPER. I couldn't help buying one- not only because I was basically thinking with my appetite but also because Augustin(e) is my brother's name I made the right choice- The waffle was simply DELICIOUS!

Tonight's dinner at RICE PAPER, a Vietnamese restaurant in Causeway Bay...
Green curry chicken, a sampler platter (calamari, shrimp on sugar cane, satay chicken, vegetarian spring rolls), and veggies... The nice thing was, it was all HALF-PRICE (Yes, it's another one of those "Pay-with-American-Express-Platinum-and-get-your-meal-for-two-for half-the-price". I had thought this offer took effect only on Fridays. I was wrong! )

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO ALL YOU AMERICANS OUT THERE!!!

I like the name Augustin. Can I borrow your parents and go back to 1980 to be renamed?!

Wanted to go to CitySuper while I was in Hong Kong, and never got time. Hopefully will next time, the  Belgian waffles sound very nice

The spa is such a great way to unwind and relax :) There's something so delicious about Belgian waffles. I'll def. have to check Augustin's if I make to HK one of these days.

I've had this waffle. I've had dreams about this waffle. I think about this waffle all the time. One of the first thing that I'm going to eat when I visit HK next year will be this waffle.

I can't say I've been to a CitySuper. I don't usually need to shop for much food. But big, fat waffles sound yummy! I feel like a retard about spas - I usually just do facials, haven't had a massage yet.

wow, i need to check out those 1/2 price restaurants when I go back to HK with my Amex Card next time.

And those waffles...hmm...reminds of the local Causeway Bay Waffles for HK$10 with the creamy peanut butter, big slob of fattening butter, handful of sugar/nuts, and the condensed milk....YUMMY!!  Although not Belgium, but think the HK Style beats Belgium any day!!  I think I had 2 HK style waffles consecutively the last time I was back.

Warning to those weight watchers...I gained 20lbs when I was back in HK...just love food too much.
