my studio shot - its naturally very dark in here - but its okay, my dad installed an extra light that feels like the power of the sun in my living room. haha yay!

my workstation - in retrospect i have no idea how i work in here, my computer dominates my space as it dominates my life (im constantly on the computer, when i sleep, nap, eat, work, and play.. like a best friend that doesnt talk back haha) at the moment i have been juggling some freelance with tiltworks, creating graphics for disney apparel. i have also done some work for mark allen, and i am setting up to do more graphic work for another design company. when i take breaks, i paint. i am currently trying to set up art for artwalk, and this time i think i wont tone down my work, or at least not as much.

teaching people art instruction has given me the the chance to be a stronger person - i am thankful that i am able to have this experience in helping others.

my homie, ryan feng, introduced me to this movie - it was really eerie because it was like watching another version of me rise and fall. so awkward. i think thats the reason why feng introduced me to that movie to begin with, because when he first met me he identified me with this character. sigh ..

so thats pretty much my life, no big… and same ol grind

i should write more than i do, but i dont. it not that there’s nothing going on with me, but for some reason in my mind, i was certain that writing is a dead art and no one really reads anymore. so if i were to write a blog, i would accompany it with pictures because surely people would avoid a large block of text… and since i have no real pictures to show at this moment, i will write.

it was a name dropper week… really weird.

on thursday i went to the pre-grammy party at the palladium in hollywood. my boss from visionshock (eric young) invited a girl-only guestlist so my sister and another co-worker went to check it out. when we arrived, i saw tony liegh, now real estate agent but former import model. kaila yu was also a famous import model i use to really like when i was in high school - now she is promoting nylon pink. eric had us upstairs in the vip at open bar, and we watched the performances of kelis, black eyed peas, will.i.am spinning, david guetta and kelly rowland - later we all went to the floor 4 heads away from the stage and went dancing, it was an amazing show!

palladium also had artwork there, and it was intense! there was audrey kawasaki, lola, travis, etc. and one of the pieces that was really captivating was kris lewis, whom i was able to meet and talk to. pretty amazing! he was really cordial, and seeing the work was unreal. while working hollywood this past weekend, busta rhymes made an appearance at kress and manny paquiao brought his entourage to empire (which use to be club sugar). it was a busy weekend on both accounts. i also met a film director, steve marlton, on saturday  (http://www.gibraltarfilms.com/)

i also saw a facebook invitation for tessar’s show in canada, and im so stoked! i saw some of the pictures, and it looks amazing!! anyone who is in town should really check it out, im a big fan!

im so proud of you!

and speaking of proud, i have been watching my students grow at vision21 and i feel pretty overwhelmed with how proud i feel. i think the strength as me being a teacher lies with my personal history of having an auditory disability, as well as being a slow learner and an otis grad. i can see myself in most students, and i dont regret that i care too much. the people that i have worked with taught me patience, and they made me into a better person. so i thank them for making me better ~

speaking of which, a couple of then got me xmas presents, when i have the pictures ill post them online! hehe <3

the theme of the show is “bee here now: a higher level of thinking” and i chose the concept of sixth sense.

a few years ago i had really horrible nightmares or sleep trauma. usually i saw things attack me in my sleep. my best friend told me that if people were trying to get my attention and talk to me in my sleep, i should listen. reluctant, i said i would try.

one night i woke up from my sleep and i saw someone standing in front of me. it was dark, but they were uplit, and see-through shades of white. it had three faces, one staring at me and two each side of its face. i asked, ‘can i help you?’ the person started talking, but its mouths were moving all at the same time, and the face that was facing me had two sets of mouths overlapping each other. i said, ‘i’m sorry, i can’t understand you.’ the thing kept talking and i said, ‘i have to go to sleep now, so you will have to leave…. fuck off i have to go to bed.’ it looked at me and walked through the wall and disappeared. i fell back asleep. this was the least aggressive episode i have ever had.

the depiction is not quite literal, but its close. and the bees are a tribute to the hive gallery, since the show is encouraged to be ‘bee’ themed.
