  • New Track On Profile: "We Are Responsible People"

    Monday, Aug 10, 2009 5:53PM / Standard Entry

Found an old track that I made with 2 friends (Jelle and Phil), for which we each programmed bar after bar after bar of beatz, mainly with the help of effects units, delays, reverbs, phasing, filters and loads of cutting and pasting. Its a pity they don't live in HK because playing this stuff live is always fun but you need 3 computers running Ableton Live to do it.

Anyway I uploaded it to my profile, the track is called "We Are Responsible People".

What up rockstars? Been off the grid for a while, but work and what not has been keeping me busy.

Played a Live set at M1NT a while back which was fun, was joined by trumpet player Kai and Rapper/MC Kenneth, and think we all managed to make it work, especially since it was the first time we all played together.

Got an art gallery show with the rest of Counterf!t  coming up on the 19th, at Philia lounge, check out the flyer below for that ^^

and A Dj set on the 22nd with Magnetic Soul, where I'll have to whip out those well soulful Drum n Bass records. Hard Beatz and Soft textures is what its all about and I do so love that. Check out the flyer below ^^

Other than that I've been playing Garou: Mark of the Wolves on the xbox360, listening to Karl Pilkington's drivel on the Ricky Gervais show (downloaded the entire XFM archive of the show) and working on finishing off the coffee table book and getting the Counterf!t t-shirt line ready.

Other than that Counterf!t has started selling toys via KID ROBOT in L.A., Miami, San Fransisco and New York so yay for that !

  • Guess they don't make roads like they used too....

  • Couterf!t, JunkFoodGirlz, & RAZK

    Thursday, Jun 18, 2009 7:54AM / Standard Entry

So I've not been blogging for a while which probably means I was a bit more dead than alive (yes it's a silly pun) anyhow figured I'd just blab on about what I'm up too.

Counterf!t is gearing up to release its t-shirt line and we've got both in house designs as well as a very cool crossover with Unicorn Kid who is both a Designer and Chip Tune musician (meaning music made on hacked Gameboys, Nintendos etc giving it that very cool 8-bit sound).

Unicorn Kid has had BBC Radio 1 and XfM appearances and remixed mainstream artists such as the Pet Shop Boys

Check out his track Holding Hands Below

My interest in Chip Tune music is growing steadily, and I'm currently working on producing my own chip tune tracks (on Nintendo Gameboy emulators and a DS^^) as well as potentially doing some chiptune DJ sets, especially since I can't find anyone else in Hong Kong who is doing them (I could be wrong though??).

Other than that I'm super happy that we managed to wrap up all the photography for JunkFoodGirlz and now can go finish the whole process of post production, I'm hoping to get the book out by August and we seem to be on schedule so yay!

Finally a new RAZK collection (which Makimi Distributes) is available at DMOP's J01 stores, so it check out !

Also high five to Derrick, Simon and Jun for putting together that wicked where do we go (where is home) track. I'm actually in the music video but deffo not the coolest one there haha

  • FINAL PHOTOSHOOT JUNKFOODGIRLZ @ CHILLAX

    Tuesday, Jun 16, 2009 9:32PM / Standard Entry

So I'm back from Europe and in doing so Spencer, Derrick and I headed out to shoot the final girl for the JunkFoodGirlz coffee table book.

Our model this time was Gretchell Yaneza. who with her assigned food (kebab) rocked hard, and managed to handle modeling with a food that drips, falls apart and is generally as unpredictable as it gets  (while pulling off some tricky poses with it and looking good at the same time)

Thanx to MCG for hookin us up with Chillax!

High five to Max and Mike for make up and hair.

This being the final shoot, we're now going to head into post production, meaning looking through the hundred and hundreds of pictures shot over the last few months, designing the layout etc.

Will write an update about the book soon!

Here are some Behind the Scenes Pics
