  • What Really Matters ...

    Wednesday, Aug 20, 2008 5:21PM / Members only

"Honesty is the best policy, but while there is truth in humour there is no humour in truth."

Trust and Honesty has gained a global audience. However, how temptations and opportunities to defraud have risen while legal and moral barriers to trust have declined and now threaten our prosperity. We cannot prove what causes change in our complex society, but we examine the environment and judge for ourselves.  Trusting becomes the crucial strategy to deal with uncertain, unpredictable and uncontrollable future. The importance of trust derives from some fundamental qualities of human action. Interacting with others we must constantly articulate expectations about their future actions. So is trust a bet about the future contingent actions of others?

There are the normative obligations to trust and there are the normative obligations to be trustworthy, credible, and reliable. However, the "culture of distrust" seems to be deeply embedded.

  • The phenomena of Mind power~

    Sunday, Aug 10, 2008 6:26PM / Members only

Life is not primarily a quest for pleasure, as Freud believed, nor a quest for power, as Alfred Adler taught, but a quest for meaning.  The great task for any person is to find meaning in his or her life. Suffering in and of itself is meaningless; we give our suffering meaning by the way in which we respond to it.  Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation. You cannot control what happens to you in life, but you can always control what you will feel and do about what happens to you.  Life is meaningful and that we must learn to see life as meaningful despite our circumstances.

  • Moral Dilemma~

    Monday, Apr 14, 2008 8:28PM / Members only

Moral judgment, moral sentiment, moral dilemma. How a sense of morality arises in a child's developing brain, how various kinds of brain damage affect moral judgment, which brain areas seem to be at play when we feel morally digust, and how we think our way through confusing moral dilemmas. This is compelling~~ What is the rellation bewteen moral reasoning and emotion. How does emotion affect our judgment about what is moral? or just an act of impulsiveness? How we juggle facts and emotion to make moral decisions. Reflecting fully the interplay of thought, emotion, empathyand foresight - as well as augish and ambivalence - that complex moral decision entail.

  • Should we blame circumstances?

    Sunday, Apr 13, 2008 4:07PM / Members only

Should we blame circumstances? Circumstance is very hard to hold accountable; circumstance is very hard to confront; from circumstance you could seek no apology.  Blaming circumstance left matters unresolved.  Circumstance needed an identity.

Through this psychiatric clinical placement, I have come to understand more about human emotions and experience that relates to the emotional and mental well-being.  How the anatomy and physiology of human brain are so captivating, and the interdependent relationship between the structure of the brain and functioning of the mind.

Exerting too much emotional restraint over matters worthy of a good cry, can lead to an accumulation of negative emotions/thoughts that stresses onto our brain.  Digging up painful bits of the past and reacting to them the way should have at the time they occurred was probably a more healthier choice.  Which can prevent emotions to develop a life of their own.

  • The Power of Commitment

    Sunday, Apr 13, 2008 4:02PM / Members only

When there is commitment, we move beyond comfort. Commitment releases the power of choice.  At the moment of time you made a choice, you changed the course and there is always something you have to leave behind.  That choice define boundries, we are living in a life of choices~ Commitment releases the power of change, it cause us to grow, if we are commited to a course or a person, we are prepare to give.

If you don't know how to stand in the shadow, you will never know how to stand in the spotlight~
