Today was my first day at Sitges Cinema Festival this year. The plan was watching Repo: a genetic Opera. A bizarre futuristic rock opera starring one of my favourite actors: Anthony Stewart Head. I will let you see the trailer before saying more...
So this festival is going downhill in the past years, but I thought it was just temporary...they show less good movies every year, true, but still, it's fun. So we queue up for Repo for one hour, then we go in, and in 15mins they stop people from coming in. After making us wait for 15mins, they say we should all go out again and wait 45 mins. Then they come out and say the producers are asking for severe security reasons so no one can record it (in a cinema festival?? it never happened here!! WTF??) and that they had to suspend the movie. Of course, we could watch it again at 1am. Taking into account that Sitges is a good 40mins by train from Barcelona, and that trains stop at 10.25pm. no way to comne back till next day...
So it sucks, I couldn't watch the movie, the organizers are slowly killing the festival.
Good thing is that, in the same spot where 2 years ago I met and had a nice chat with Anthony Wong (that is the hotel cafeteria) I got to meet the star of the movie, and one of my ever favourite actors: Anthony Stewart-Head. He was very nice, we chatted for a while and took a pic together. Some of you may remember him as Giles, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
After that we went for lunch, and then we went to watch this japanese movie called Monster X. Directed by Minoru Kawasaki (the guy who brought u the awesome Executive Koala) was there with his producer to present the movie, and they were both SO funny. The movie had us laughing all the time, criticizing international politics in such a smart way...
Anyways, here u have the trailer...
And a pair of pics of them...
Tomorrow Day 2...We will be watching Ghost vs Alien (another bizarre japanese movie by the director of The Ring) and Vinyan, a scary and unsettling french movie, or so they say.
In the meanwhile...I will share with you some pics of one of my favourite villages near Barcelona, and a must-visit if I am your tour guide: Sitges. We had ana amazingly blue sky today, it was a bit chilly, but sunny, so the pics look nice ^^
